THE BOROUGH OF LUTON
(VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES)
(LTFC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 8th July 2024 made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Order will come into operation 1st August 2024 and cease operation after 31st July 2025 or when the proposed football matches have finished, whichever is the earlier. The Order will therefore be in operation when signs are displayed.

The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic the following roads and lengths of roads, namely Ash Road from Hampton Road to Maple Road East, Avondale Road the whole length, Beech Road the whole length, Clifton Road the whole length, Dunstable Road from a point outside of property No.219 to a point outside of property No.239, Hampton Road the whole length, Hazelbury Crescent the whole length, Ivy Road the whole length, Kenilworth Road the whole length, Maple Road East the whole length, Oak Road the whole length. Diversion not available. In conjunction with the road closures the Council intends to suspend the one-way restriction on Dunstable Road the length from a point outside of property No.219 to a point outside of property No.239, and on Oak Road the whole length.

The Order is intended to create a window for the Luton Town Football Club matches to take place and it is anticipated that the football matches will take place over a period within the dates described above. The purpose of the Order is to enable the safe passage of highway users attending Luton Town Football Club matches.

For the period of the closures, the Order will also provide for “No Waiting and No Loading” restrictions to apply within the roads and lengths of roads closed for said Luton Town Football Club matches. Any vehicle deemed to be in contravention of the restrictions will be issued with a penalty charge notice and removed. This will be in force when traffic signs, barriers or cones are displayed.

Pedestrian access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst the football matches are taking place. Details of road closures can be found at http://www.luton.gov.uk/roadworks
