The Royal Borough Of Kensington And Chelsea - Road Closed To Vehicles For Crane Works

What is happening?

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES
THURLOE SQUARE and ALEXANDER PLACE and SOUTH TERRACE and ALEXANDER SQUARE

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has made an Order under The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Schedule 1 - Section 14 (1) (A) and all other enabling powers prohibiting vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below. Where necessary to maintain access for residents and occupiers one way or two-way traffic working may be imposed on affected roads.

 ROAD CLOSED TO VEHICLES FOR CRANE WORKS

• Thurloe Square eastern leg to be closed between the junction of Thurloe Place to the junction of South Terrace.
• Thurloe Square southern leg to be closed between the junction of South Terrace to junction of the western leg of Thurloe Square,
• Alexander Place to be closed between the junction of the junction of A308 Brompton Road to the junction of Thurloe Square.
• South Terrace to be closed between the junction of Thurloe Square to the junction of Alexander Square.
• Alexander Square to be closed between the junction of South Terrace to the junction of A308 Brompton Road.

To be closed from 08.00hrs on Friday 12th July 2024 until 08.00hrs on Saturday 13th July 2024.

Diverted through traffic may use A308 Brompton Road, A4 Brompton Road, Thurloe Place, Cromwell Place, Old Brompton Road, Pelham Street, Thurloe Square, or A308 Brompton Road, Pelham Street, Thurloe Square.
The One-way working of These roads are to be suspended for the duration of the road closures,

Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency.
