What is happening?

Various Roads, Yeovil in the Parish of Yeovil (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that on the 5th day of July 2024 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 27th day of June 2024, to introduce temporary traffic restrictions on the roads specified in the Schedules below. This Order will come into operation on the 11th day of July 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months.
The Works are expected to commence on the 20th day of July 2024 until the 1st day of September 2024 (between 0800 hours and 1630 hours) to enable Wales and West Utilities to carry out gas mains replacement works. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Temporary One-Way (north eastwards)
Preston Road, Yeovil – From its junction with Bell Chase in a north easterly direction to its junctions with Larkhill Road and Preston Grove
Schedule 2 - Temporary Banned Right Turn
Stratford Road, Yeovil – From Stratford Road onto Preston Road
Schedule 3 - Temporary Banned Left Turn
Watercombe Lane, Yeovil – From Watercombe Lane onto Preston Road
Statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
