Ryhope Doxford Park Link Road - 30 Mph And 40 Mph Speed Limit Zones Traffic Order

(RYHOPE DOXFORD PARK LINK ROAD) (30MPH AND 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONES)
TRAFFIC ORDER 20--
NOTICE is given that Sunderland City Council propose to make an Order under Sections 1 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Part IV of the Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The effect of the proposed Order is to: (i) Introduce a 30mph Speed Limit Zone on Burdon Lane from the intersection of Burdon Lane in a south-westerly direction, to a point 211.6 metres north-east of the extended eastern highway boundary of Burdon Village Road (western). (ii) Introduce a 40mph Speed Limit Zone on Eltham Road from a point 29.4 metres south of its intersection with Tunstall Bank, to a point 28.9 metres north of its intersection with Rotary Road. (iii) Introduce a 40mph Speed Limit Zone on Doxford Park Way from a point 42.7 metres west of its intersection with Burdon Road, to its western extent. (iv) Revoke the 40mph speed limit from THE BOROUGH OF SUNDERLAND (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO.2) ORDER 1970 relating to Doxford Park Way (the whole) which extends from its junction with Silkworth Road (B1286) in an easterly direction to its junction with Burdon Road a distance of approximately 2272 yards. (v) Revoke the 40mph speed limit from THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (TUNSTALL BANK AND PART OF BURDON ROAD, DOXFORD PARK) 40MPH SPEED LIMIT REVOCATION ORDER 2003 relating to Any and all existing Order(s) prohibiting the driving of motor vehicles at a speed exceeding 40mph on the B1286 road known as Burdon Road, Doxford Park from a point 188 metres south of its junction with Orr Avenue northwards to its junction with Tunstall Village Green is hereby revoked. (vi) Revoke the 30mph speed limit from THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (BURDON ROAD, DOXFORD PARK) 30MPH SPEED LIMIT ORDER 2020 relating to Burdon Road from a point 26.0 metres north-west of its intersection with the extended north-western highway boundary of The Fold, to its junction Sourmilk Hill roundabout (Burdon Road/ Doxford Park Way/ Mill Hill Road/ Hall Farm Road). (vii) Revoke the De-restricted Speed Limit of 60mph from THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (ELTHAM ROAD, RYHOPE) DE-RESTRICTION ORDER 2010 relating to Eltham Road from its junction with B1286 Tunstall Bank, to its junction with Highclere Drive.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA, until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to proceed to make the Order.
