What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
THANET AREA
A255 Park Road, Ramsgate, CT11 7PZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A255 Park Road, Ramsgate, on or after 29th July 2024 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 2, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 Park Road, A255 High Street, B2014 Newington Road, A254 Margate Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
B2190 Spitfire Way, Ramsgate, CT12 5FF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow carriageway works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2190 Spitfire Way, Ramsgate, on or after 15th July 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of B2050 Manston Road and Columbus Avenue, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2050 Manston Road, Margate Hill, The Street, Minster Road, B2190 Un-named Road From Minster Road To Columbus Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Adelaide Gardens, Ramsgate, CT11 9EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Adelaide Gardens, Ramsgate, on or after 15th July 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from number 7 to number 9, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Adelaide Gardens, Liverpool Lawn and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cottage Road, Ramsgate, CT11 8LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cottage Road, Ramsgate, on or after 16th July 2024 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Abbots Hill and Hibernia Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Abbots Hill, Camden Road, Hibernia Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
George Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9TF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of George Street, Ramsgate, on or after 18th July 2024 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Cavendish Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via George Street, High Street, Cannon Road, Elms Avenue, Queen Street, Effingham Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Margate Soul Festival (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow Margate Soul Festival to be held, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Margate. Closures are planned from 17:00 hours on 1st August 2024, with estimated completion by 23:00 hours on 4th August 2024
The Parade will be closed between the junctions of Market Street and King Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Duke Street will be closed at the junction with Market Place, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Mansion Street will be closed at the junction with Fort Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Market Place will be closed at the junction with Love Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
King Street will be closed at the junction with Broad Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic from King Street is via the open section of King Street and Fort Road up to Broad Street and onto Love Lane.
The alternative route for any through traffic from The Parade is via B2051 The Parade, Market Street and Lombard Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Park Place & High Street, Margate, CT9 1LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow sewage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Park Place & High Street, Margate, on or after 15th July 2024 for up to 15 days or until the works have been completed.
Park Place will be closed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via A255 Grosvenor Gardens, B2055 Churchfields, High Street and Grosvenor Hill.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Grosvenor Hill, A254 Eaton Road and A255 Grosvenor Gardens.
The one-way Order for High Street, will be suspended between the junctions of Grosvenor Hill and Mill Lane to allow access, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Spratling Lane, Ramsgate, CT12 5AL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Spratling Lane, Ramsgate, on or after 29th July 2024 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from Haine Lodge to Spratling Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Spratling Lane, Spratling Street, A256 Haine Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
St James Avenue, Broadstairs, CT10 2RW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow carriageway works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St James Avenue, Broadstairs, on or after 15th July 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Birchington, CT7 0HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Birchington, on or after 30th July 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Acol Hill and Minster Road, between the hours of 14:30 and 19:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Acol Hill, B2050 Park Lane, A28 Canterbury Road, A299 Thanet Way, A299 Canterbury Road West, B2190 Minster Road, Minster Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Tothill Street, Minster, CT12 4BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tothill Street, Minster, on or after 29th July 2024 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of A299 Hengist Way and Foxborough Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tothill Street, A299 Hengist Way, Cottington Link, Cottington Road, Grinsell Hill, The Lanes, Foxborough Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
West Cliff Road, Broadstairs, CT10 1NS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of West Cliff Road, Broadstairs, on or after 29th July 2024 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from number 6 to number 16, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Cliff Road, A255 Ramsgate Road, Granville Road, Granville Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
