CROYDON COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984. SECTION 14. AS AMENDED TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR OR PEDESTRIAN ACCESS AND TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTIONS

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate essential highway maintenance works that may take place within the London Borough of Croydon, they have amended "The Croydon (Highways Maintenance Works) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order) 2024" to include the streets listed in the Schedule to this notice, and to allow the following measures to be introduced in those streets, for which Croydon Council are the highway authority, providing that the relevant permissions have been granted by the Council:

(a) temporarily introduce one-way traffic for the duration of the works in those streets or lengths of streets.

(b) temporarily close to vehicular traffic those streets or lengths of streets.

(c) temporarily close any adjoining streets to vehicular traffic where this is considered necessary to facilitate the work in progress.

(d) temporarily introduce banned turns, footway closures or waiting and loading restrictions at any time should this be required and

(e) temporarily suspend bus lanes/stops, cycle lanes, parking bays or any other traffic restriction as required where this is considered necessary to facilitate the work in progress.

2. Wherever the work happens to be in progress, no person may cause or permit any vehicle to:

(a) proceed in a direction other than that indicated by a traffic sign, or

(b) proceed in any street or length of street which may at the time be subject to a road closure until the completion of the work allows.

3. Whilst the provisions of the amended Order remain in force, waiting or loading by vehicles would be prohibited at any time in those streets or lengths of streets specified where work is in progress. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction on waiting imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

4. All works requiring a road closure will be advertised complete with any diversion route on our website at the address below. Planned closures and diversion routes are also shown in the Schedule to this Notice.

5. Frontages affected by the above restrictions will receive notification letters approximately two weeks before any works commence.

6. The amended Order will come into operation on the 05 July 2024 and will remain in force until 10 October 2025, 18 months from the operational date of the original Order. (Note: The provisions of the Order will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. (Access for frontagers would be maintained whilst the work proceeds).

PAGE CRESCENT. CROYDON TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic in Page Crescent.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place, the entire length of Page Crescent will be closed between its junctions with Denning Avenue.

3. During the closure, the diversion route for vehicular traffic will be via Page Crescent and Denning Avenue. Access for residents will be maintained via the signed diversion. Access to properties will be maintained.

4. The Order will come into operation on 08 July 2024, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 05 August 2024. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extents as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

HALING PARK ROAD. SOUTH CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PARKING

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas disconnection works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit parking in Haling Park Road, South Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place, parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time in the free parking bay on the north-west (even-numbered) side of Haling Park Road outside Nos. 18 and 20a Haling Park Road.

3. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

4. The Order will come into operation on 18 July 2024, and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out in 10 days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

STOATS NEST ROAD. COULSDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate carriageway re-surfacing works they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic movements in Stoats Nest Road.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Stoats Nest Road will be closed between its junctions with Windermere Road and Stoats Nest Village.

3. During the closure the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below.

* Via Brighton Road, A22 Whyteleaffe Hill, Whyteleaffe Road, and Burntwood Lane.

* Via Brighton Road, Farthing Way, Marlpit Lane, and Stoneyfield Road

* Via Stoneyfield Road, Marlpit Lane, Farthing Way, and Brighton Road

4. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said work.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

5. The Order will come into operation on 20 July 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

SUMNER ROAD SOUTH. CROYDON TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate cabling works on behalf of UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Sumner Road South.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) Sumner Road South will be closed between its junction with Onslow Road and the common boundary of Nos. 161 and 163 Sumner Road South.

b) The south-eastern footway of Sumner Road South will be closed outside No. 159 Sumner Road South.

3. During the closure, the alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Onslow Road, Kingsley Road, Chapman Road, Euston Road, Sumner Road South and vice versa. Pedestrians will be diverted to the opposite footway.
