What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U7546 Buttons Lane, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Buttons Lane – from the junction with U7546 Scrag Oak Lane to the junction with U7546 Churchsettle Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7548 Brinkers Lane, Darbys Lane – B2099 Ticehurst Road – C214 Stonegate Road – U7546 Churchsettle Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 9 July 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 9 and 10 July 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2026 Edenbridge Road, Hartfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Edenbridge Road – from the junction with A264 Colestock Road to the junction with B2110 Castlefields.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A264 Colestock Road, East Grinstead Road, Watch Oak Hill, Ashurst Road (Kent) – B2110 Groombridge Hill (Kent), Withyham Road.

The Order commences 5 July 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.

However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 July 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2100 Wadhurst Road/Best Beech Hill/Mayfield Lane, Mark Cross & Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Wadhurst Road/Best Beech Hill/Mayfield Lane – from the junction with B2099 Station Road to the junction with A267 Tunbridge Wells Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road – B2099 Wadhurst Road, Riverhall Hill, Frant Road, Station Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 24 July 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.

However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 July 2024 and 3 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
