What is happening?
(THORNHILL GALA PARADE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close various roads in Thornhill as detailed below on Saturday 13/7/24, 12:00 to 13:00. The closure is necessary to facilitate activities associated with Thornhill Gala Parade. Parade route: from Thornhill Community Centre to East Back St, Drumlanrig St, Cairnkinna Cres, Townhead St, West Morton St, Drumlanrig St, East Back St. No alternative route available, minor delays should be expected for the duration of the event. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
(A710 DUMFRIES – NEW ABBEY - DALBEATTIE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close the A710 between the junctions of C22n and U299n from 0930 on 15/07/24 to 1530 on 16/07/24. The closure is necessary to facilitate pole replacement works. Alternative route available via A711, A710 and vice versa.
Emergency access will be available. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
(U612N ALDERMANHILL ROAD) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close the U612n Aldermanhill Road, Dumfries from 0930 – 1530 on 18/07/24. The closure is necessary to facilitate pole renewal works. Alternative route available via Cresswell Avenue, Cresswell Hill and vice versa. Emergency access will be available. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT
The South West of Scotland Transport Partnership (SWestrans) Regional Transport Strategy 2023-2042 (RTS) was approved by SWestrans Board on 30th June 2023 and received ministerial approval on 7th March 2024.
SWestrans in accordance with s.6 of the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005 (the Statutory Regional Transport Partnership covering the area of Dumfries and Galloway), has published a new Regional Transport Strategy (and supporting documents) ‘SWestrans Regional Transport Strategy 2023-2042’. An associated Strategic Environmental Assessment – Environmental Report has also been published. The Regional Transport Strategy sets out proposals for the future of the regions transport system, up to 2042.
