TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that on 4/7/24 South Tyneside Council made an Order under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit driving on the following sections of road:- Church Bank, Jarrow, from its junction with Access Rd to car park to its junction with Straker St. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, and in particular to enable South Tyneside Council to resurface the highway. The Order will come into force on the 4/7/24. The maximum duration of the prohibition under this Order will be 18 mths however it is anticipated that the prohibition will only be needed from 8/7/24 for 12 days. All vehicles except those engaged in the works, will be prohibited on the road described above for the duration of the works. The prohibition shall only apply at
such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition, the alternative route will be via Church Bank, Ring Rd, Howard St, A19t Sliproad To And From A185, Straker St & vice versa.
