A196 NEWBIGGIN ROAD ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER NO. 3 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the A196 Newbiggin Road Ashington for a length of 40 metres, 20 metres either side of the level crossing in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 27th July 2024 until the 19th August 2024.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from 22:00 hours on the 27th July 2024 until 22:00 hours on the 30th July 2024 continuous, followed by night time closures from the 5th August 2024 until the 19th August between the hours of 23:00 and 06:00.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the A196, U6702, U6705 and vice- versa.

The closure has been requested by HW Martin Traffic Management on behalf of Siemens Mobility Ltd for the installation and setup of obstacle detection crossing equipment.
In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
