What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
COATES LANE, GHYLL MEADOW, PICKARD CLOSE, WHITWORTH WAY, COATES FIELD, BANKS BRIDGE CLOSE AND LOCKFIELD DRIVE, BARNOLDSWICK, PENDLE BOROUGH
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that lengths of Coates Lane, Ghyll Meadow, Pickard Close, Whitworth Way, Coates Field, Bank Bridge and Lockfield Drive Barnoldswick.
Coates Lane, Barnoldswick from its junction with Greenberfield Lane to its junction with Skipton Road.
Ghyll Meadow, Barnoldswick from its junction with Coates Lane to the end of the road
Pickard Close, Barnoldswick from its junction with Ghyll Meadow to the end of the road.
Whitworth Way, Barnoldswick form its junction with Coates Lane to the end of the road.
Coates Field, Barnoldswick from its junction with Whitworth Way to the end of the road.
Banks Bridge Close, Barnoldswick from its junction with Whitworth Way to the end of the road.
Lockfield Drive, Barnoldswick from tis junction with Coates Lane to the end of the road.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 0800 hours until 1800 hours on Thursday 11th July 2024 until Thursday 8th August 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
Coates lane, Ghyll Meadow, Pickard Close and Lockfield Drive – Thursday 11 July 2024 until Thursday 8th August
Whitworth Way, Coates Field and Banks Bridge Close – Friday 12th July 2024 until Wednesday 7th August 2024
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Greenberfield Lane – Skipton Road – and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow surface dressing works to be carried out.
