What is happening?

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 
The Somerset Council (No. 3) Modification Order, 2024 

Parishes of Sparkford and Queen Camel

TO Mr & Mrs Robinson OF The Ridge, Gason Lane, Queen Camel, Yeovil, Somerset, BA22 7PQ 

The above Order, made on 28 June 2024 under Section 53(2)(b) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by: 

1. Upgrading footpath WN 27/4 in the Parish of Sparkford starting opposite Sparkford Hill Lane on the west side of the A359 Yeovil – Sparkford Rd (point G on the order plan) and running in a westerly direction for approximately 377 metres to a gate at its junction with WN23/11 at the parish boundary (point F1 on the order plan) to a bridleway. 

2. Upgrading footpath WN 23/15 in the Parish of Queen Camel starting at its junction with Gason Lane (point F2 on the order plan) and running in an easterly direction for approximately 167 metres, crossing WN 23/14, to reach WN 23/11 at the parish boundary (F1 on the order plan) to a bridleway. 

A copy of the order and the order plan have been placed and may be seen free of charge by appointment (Tel: 01823 355 644) at Somerset Council, County Hall, The Crescent, Taunton, TA1 4DY from 9.00am until 3.00pm Monday to Friday. Copies of the Order and plan may be obtained there free of charge or by contacting rightsofway@somerset.gov.uk. 

Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to Rights of Way Definitive Map Team, Somerset Council, County Hall, Taunton, TA1 4DY, to be received not later than 15 August 2024. 

Please state the grounds on which it is made. 

If no such representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, Somerset Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
