The East Sussex (Public Footpath Hamsey 24,

Hamsey 25a, Hamsey 25b, Lewes 16b (part))

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024 To protect public safety while the Environment Agency carry out works for raising the flood bank of the River Ouse at Lewes to its original design level and associated works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpaths:

Temporary Footpath Closure

The whole of Public Footpath Hamsey 24 will be closed to all users between TQ 4018 1171 and TQ 4058 1169. The whole of Public Footpath Hamsey 25a will be closed to all users between TQ 4057 1167 and TQ 4058 1169. The whole of Public Footpath Hamsey 25b will be closed to all users between TQ 4058 1169 and TQ 4112 1226. Part of Public Footpath Lewes 16b will be closed to all users between TQ 4062 1151 and TQ 4057 1167.

A part alternative route will be available between Lewes 16b and byway Lewes 23 (Landport Road) via a track under the railway line running approximately south westerly from Lewes 16b at TQ 4062 1151 and vice versa and as shown on the Order plan.

The closure will be in force for 6 months from 22 July 2024, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpaths still be unavailable to use. The East Sussex (U5487 Grand Avenue, Seaford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Grand Avenue – from the junction with U5486 Princess Drive to the junction with U5544 Crown Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5487 Grand Avenue – U5486 Princess Drive and vice versa. The Order commences 9 July 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. Millwood Lane – from the junction with U7500 Underhill to the junction with A272 Budletts Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A272 Budletts Lane – C33 London Road, Straight Half Mile – U7500 Underhill and vice versa. The Order commences 8 July 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Ailies Lane – from the junction with U7672 Graywood Road to the junction with U7675 Highlands Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7675 Highlands Lane – U7040 Parsonage Lane, Honeywick Lane – U7672 Smithlands Lane, Stalkers Lane, Graywood Lane and vice versa. The Order commences 5 July 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The Street – from the junction with A27 Lewes Road to the junction with C207 Langtye Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A27(T) Lewes Road – C340 Common Lane – C39 Station Road – C347 Lower Wick Street – C207 Langtye Lane, The Street and vice versa. The Order commences 10 July 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. Temporary Road Closure

Station Street – from the junction with B2193 Lansdown Place to the junction with A2029 Fisher Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via A2029 Fisher Street, West Street, North Street, Little East Street, Eastgate Street – B2193 Friars Walk, Lansdown Place and westbound via A2029 Fisher Street, Mount Pleasant, White Hill, Offham Road – A275 Nevill Road – C7 Winterbourne Hollow, Bell Lane – B2193 Southover High Street, Priory Street, Station Street. The Order commences 8 July 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
