What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(APPLETREE CLOSE AND VARIOUS ROADS, SOUTHWELL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (N24-176)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Southwell in the District of Newark. The effects of the Order will be: 1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road as listed in paragraph 3.

2.  Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (Both sides) (at any time) in the following length of road as listed in paragraph 3.

3.  Appletree Close, Southwell – From its junction with The Ropewalk for the full length of the road.

Private Road, Southwell – From its junction with The Ropewalk to its junction with Kings Court.

Kirby Close, Southwell – From its junction with Lower Kirktlington Road to its junction with Crafts Way.

Crafts Way, Southwell – From its junction with Lower Kirktlington Road to its junction with Cauldwell Close.

Bleasby Road, Goverton – From its junction with Station Road and Goverton Hill for a distance of 800 metres in a South Easterly direction.

4.  All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

5.  The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 09:00 Hours, on Wednesday 10th July 2024 Until 14:30 Hours, on Monday 19th August 2024 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: Appletree Close – No Diversion route.

Private Road - No Diversion route.

Kirby Close - Lower Kirklington Road – Crafts Way and Vice Versa

Crafts Way - Lower Kirklington Road – Kiby Close and Vice Versa

Bleasby Road - Southwell Road – Nottingham Road – Westgate – Church Street – Easthorpe – Fiskerton Road – Spring Hill – Fiskerton Road – Station Road – Main Street and Vice Versa

The Order will come into force on Wednesday 10th July 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
