TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS M2
What is happening?
M2 MOTORWAY – JUNCTIONS 5 TO 7 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M2 Motorway in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of both carriageways of the M2 between Junction 5 (A249) and Junction 7 (A2/A299),
and all slip roads leading to and from these lengths of carriageway.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge, barrier and all associated works.
It is expected that the work would last for approximately 2 months starting on or after Monday 9th August 2024. The overnight closures would take
place between 20:00 and 05:00 (maximum period). Please see National Highways website for details.
The Order would come into force on 7th August 2024 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A249, M20, A28 and the A2 in both directions.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
