What is happening?

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U6106 Cottingwood Lane Morpeth from a point 24 metres south east of its junction with Dawson Place to its junction with Cottinglea for a length of 144 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 20th July 2024 until the 1st September 2024.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 20th July 2024 until the 25th August 2024 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 1st September 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the Cottingwood Lane, drive from Cottingwood Lane to St Georges Hospital, West Close St Georges Hospital, Dark Lane, Howard Road and vice-versa.

The closure has been requested by IDA Homes Limited to connect to drainage. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
