What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
PARISH OF ANCROFT PUBLIC FOOTPATH NUMBER 11
(TEMPORARY PUBLIC FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use of Parish of Ancroft Public Footpath No 11, in the County of Northumberland.
The route is described as follows:
From a point on the U17 road 460 metres east of Ladythorne House in an easterly direction for a distance of 1195 metres crossing the East Coast Main Line Railway to a point immediately north of Cheswick Shiel, 430 metres north of Berwick (Goswick) Golf Club House.
There is no alternative route available.
The Order is to be effective from the 22nd July 2024 until the 22nd January 2025.

The closure has been requested by Network Rail in the interests of public safety to comply with Network Rail safety standards.
