What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL (SPECIAL EVENT) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024 – TEMP/24/125

The Council, with the consent of Scottish Ministers, has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate the holding of an event, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on the sections of roads specified in Sch 1, where prohibitions apply to roads in their entirety unless otherwise specified; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle on the sections of the roads specified in Sch 2, where prohibitions apply to both sides of the roads in their entirety unless otherwise specified. Existing restrictions may be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in Sch 2. The alternative routes for vehicular traffic are via: (1) Leith Area – Baltic St, Salamander Pl, Links Gdns, East Hermitage Pl, Hermitage Pl, Vanburgh Pl, Duke St, Great Junction St, Nth Junction St & Commercial St; (2) Wester Hailes Area – Hailesland Rd & Murrayburn Rd; & (3) City

Centre, Canongate, Dumbiedykes & Calton Road areas – London Rd, Leith Walk, York Pl, Queen St, St. Colme St, Ainslie Pl, Great Stuart St, Randolph Cres, Drumsheugh Pl, Drumsheugh Gdns, Chester St, Palmerston Pl, Torphichen St, Dewar Pl, Morrison St, Lothian Rd, Earl Grey St, Brougham St, Melville Drv, Summerhall Cres, Sciennes, Sciennes House Pl, Causewayside, West Preston St, East Preston St, Dalkeith Rd, Blacket Ave, Minto St, Mayfield Gdns, Craigmillar Park, Liberton Rd, Gilmerton Rd, Kingston Ave, Old Dalkeith Rd, Craigmillar Castle Rd, Duddingston Rd West & Willowbrae Rd.
