(Barnham & Eastergate: Wandleys Lane)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Wandleys Lane in the parish of Barnham & Eastergate, from its junction with Moss Meadow, south-westwards for 110m.

The road closure is needed to maintain safety while highway maintenance is carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 8 July 2024 and remain in force until 15 July 2024. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times. (Harting: Public Bridleway No. 880)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2023

NOTICE is hereby given that the Order made by WSCC under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and which originally came into force on 9 January 2023, with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport, will now continue in force until 9 July 2025 or until the works are completed.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety due to an unsafe bridge.

The effect of the Order remains unchanged and is to prohibit any person from proceeding along a length of Public Bridleway No. 880 from its western end at its junction with Eastfield Lane (SU804197), eastwards to its junction with Sheepwash Road (SU805196).

Unfortunately there is no alternative routes available using the Public Rights of Way network.

(Harting: B2146, & Various Roads)

(20mph, 30mph And 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC proposes to introduce a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce:-

(i)   a 20mph speed limit on lengths of the B2146 Park Road,

South Gardens and The Street, Culvers, Elsted Road,

The Hop Garden, New Lane, North Lane, Pease Croft,

South Acre, Tipper Lane and Warren Side and

(ii)  a 30mph speed limit on lengths of the B2141 Harting Hill and B2146, and

(iii) a 40mph speed limit on a length of the B2146

Full details of the proposals in this Notice can be viewed on our website www.westsussex.gov.uk/tro. The website includes a response form for comments or objections.

Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.
