What is happening?

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

On 24 June 2024 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on steelwork repairs to damaged bridge on behalf of Network Rail) on Main Street B804, Glenboig from Glenboig New Road to no.1 Main Street by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Vehicles below 7.5 tonnes should proceed via Main Street B804, Johnston Road B804, Lochend Road A752, Coatbridge Road A752, Townhead Road, Gartsherrie Road, Sunnyside Road B803, Coltwood Road B804, Gartliston Road B804 and Coatbridge Road B804

Vehicles above 7.5 tonnes should proceed via Main Street B804, Glenboig Road B804, Johnston Road B804, Lochend Road A752, Coatbridge Road A752, Townhead Road, Blair Road, Bank Street A89, South Circular Road A89, Main Street A89, Deedes Street A89, Alexander Street A89, Aitchison Street A8010, High Street A8010, North Bridge Street B802, Commonhead Street B802, Glenmavis Road B802, Coatbridge Road B803, Waverley Street B803, Burnbank Street B803, Coltswood Road B804, Gartliston Road B804 and Coatbridge Road B804

Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

The Order, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Thursday, 11 July 2024 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Wednesday, 7 August 2024.
