Dagenham, Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicles Due To Gas Works

What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (BECONTREE AVENUE AND NEVILLE ROAD, DAGENHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE OF MAKING

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has made a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Thursday 8 August 2024. The works expected for:

  • Works to take 19 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 26 August 2024 with the work to be undertaken between 7.00am and 7.00pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:-

  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Becontree Avenue, westbound carriageway, from its junction with Valence Avenue to a point 8 metres west of the western kerbline of Neville Road.
  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Becontree Avenue, south side access road (fronting No's. 434-448 Becontree Avenue) for its entire length.
  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Neville Road, both sides, from its junction with Becontree Avenue for a distance of 11 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Introduce a one-way in Becontree Avenue, eastbound carriageway (in an easterly direction) from a point 8.5 metres east of the extended eastern building line of No. 425 Becontree Avenue, in an easterly direction to its junction with Valence Avenue.
  • Introduce a banned right turn from Becontree Avenue, north side access road fronting No's 427-439 (eastern junction) into Becontree Avenue.
  • Introduce a banned right turn from Valence Avenue, southbound carriageway, into Becontree Avenue.
  • Introduce a banned left turn from Valence Avenue, northbound carriageway, into Becontree Avenue.
  • Suspend the Electric Vehicle Charging Only Max stay 4hrs No return within 2hrs bay on Becontree Avenue, south side access road fronting No's 434-436 Becontree Avenue.
  • Suspend the Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6.30pm 1 hr No return within 2hrs bay on Becontree Avenue, south side access road fronting No's 438-444 Becontree Avenue.
  • Partial closure of Becontree Avenue, north side footpath, from a point 1 metre east of the eastern property boundary of No. 425 Becontree Avenue for a distance of 6 metres in an easterly direction.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

  • Via Valence Avenue northbound carriageway, Green Lane westbound carriageway, Bennett's Castle Lane southbound carriageway and Becontree Avenue eastbound carriageway.
  • Via Valence Avenue southbound carriageway and Seabrook Road westbound carriageway.
  • Via Seabrook Road westbound carriageway, Bennett's Castle northbound carriageway and Becontree Avenue eastbound carriageway.
