What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PRINCESS ROAD,
MARKET WEIGHTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Princess Road, Market Weighton during the following
period Monday 22 July 2024 until Friday 23
August 2024. The road closure is necessary to enable
carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out in a
manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the
public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is
anticipated that the works will be completed within
33 days. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the road closure will be via Cliffe Road, Southgate,
Hawling Road and Princess Road. The diversion route
will be signed at the time of closure. The road will be
closed to all traffic but access will be maintained for
emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians.
