What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF LUTON
(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 2024.

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, intends to make the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The general effect of the Order will be:
1. to introduce Red Route controls on which stopping to park, load, unload or board from a vehicle will be prohibited at any time (‘double-red lines’) in Spittlesea Road the whole length.
2. to provide an area within the Red Route on Spittlesea Road where stopping to park, load, unload or board from a vehicle is prohibited at any time except for taxis in the existing taxi bay.
3. on Hitchin Road revoke and remove a length of limited waiting parking bay in operation Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm maximum stay 1 hour with No return within 1 hour and introduce in its place No Waiting at Any Time restriction.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should write to me at the address below, or email highways@luton.gov.uk setting out the grounds of your objection by no later than Thursday 25th July 2024 quoting reference HW/TRO/P2201
