SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

THE SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS) (CONSOLIDATION OF MOVING TRAFFIC AND SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2006 (AS AMENDED) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 2024 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 PTO1088 - Sacred Heart School Street

The Southend-on-Sea City Council proposes to make the above named Order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and 124 (and part IV of Schedule 9) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004 as amended and of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police n accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act.

The effect of these Orders would be to amend the moving traffic restrictions by introducing a Pedestrian and Cycle Zone and a Prohibition of Vehicles at:

PTO1088 - Sacred Heart School Street The Southend-on-Sea City Council proposes to make the above named Order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and 124 (and part IV of Schedule 9) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004 as amended and of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police n accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The effect of these Orders would be to amend the moving traffic restrictions by introducing a Pedestrian and Cycle Zone and a Prohibition of Vehicles at:

  • Windermere Road, the entire length of the road.

  • Fowler Close, the entire length off the road.

  • The entire length of the side roads joining Windermere Road and Fowler Close.

The proposed operational period for the pedestrian and cycle zone and prohibition of vehicles is: Monday to Friday, between 8:10am - 9:10am and 2:45pm - 3:45pm, term-time only. A copy of the proposed Order, a design/plan showing the roads to which the Order relates and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the Reception on the ground floor of the Civic Centre (address below) during normal office hours and on the Council's website at: https://www.southend.gov.uk/tro. Any comments to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be sent in writing to the Director of Infrastructure and Environment and marked for the attention of the Traffic Regulation Order Team and Civil Engineering Team at the address below or emailed to TraffWeb@southend.gov.uk by no later than 19th July 2024.

All written representations received concerning Traffic Regulation Orders are public documents that may be inspected by any person on demand.
