Dover, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

BOWLING STREET, SANDWICH, CT13 9EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bowling Street, Sandwich, on or after 11th July 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Vicarage Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bowling Street, Delf Street, Church Street St Mary, Strand Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

CHAPEL ROAD & FORGE LANE, WHITFIELD, CT16 3GT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chapel Road & Forge Lane, Whitfield, on or after 26th July 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

Chapel Road will be closed between the junctions of Forge Lane and Sandwich Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Forge Lane will be closed between the junctions of Chapel Road and Beechwood Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandwich Road, Nursery Lane, Guilford Avenue, Forge Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

DOVER ROAD, SANDWICH, CT13 9JP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dover Road, Sandwich, on or after 24th July 2024 for up to 38 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the railway crossing to the junction of St Bartholomews, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Dover Road, Deal Road, A258 Deal Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass, Ash Road, Strand Street, High Street, The Chain, Galliard Street and New Street.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via New Street, No Name Street, Market Street, The Butchery, Harnet Street, Stand Street, Ash Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A258 Deal Road, Deal Road and Dover Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

HERITAGE ROAD, AYLESHAM, CT3 3EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Heritage Road, Aylesham, on or after 8th July 2024.

The road will be closed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

SALISBURY ROAD, WALMER, CT14 7HZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Salisbury Road, Walmer, on or after 8th July 2024 for up to 40 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from number 1 to A258 Dover Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Salisbury Road, Court Road, Station Road, A258 Dover Road and vice versa.

SAUNDERS LANE, ASH, CT3 2BW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Saunders Lane, Ash, on or after 10th July 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Castleford, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Saunders Lane, Sandwich Road, New Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

STRAIGHT MILE, BETTESHANGER, CT14 0NJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Straight Mile, Betteshanger, on or after 24th July 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Church Road to the junction of Northbourne School, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Whitfield By-pass From C227 Kennel Hill To C237 Venson Road, Boys Hill, Willow Woods Road, Deal Road, Northbourne Road, Straight Mile and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

STRAND STREET, SANDWICH, CT13 9HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Strand Street, Sandwich, on or after 9th July 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Ash Road and The Butts, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Strand Street, High Street, The Chain, Galliard Street, New Street, Dover Road, Deal Road, A258 Deal Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass and Ash Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Ash Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A258 Deal Road, Deal Road, Dover Road, New Street, Cattle Market, Harnet Street and Strand Street.Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
