What is happening?

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF STOCKTON-ON-TEES
CREATION OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH NUMBER 31A (STOCKTON)
PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2021

On 5th June 2024, The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above Order made under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to create a public footpath over the land at Harbron Woods, Norton as shown on the Order map, and to modify The Borough of Stocktonon- Tees Definitive Map and Statement to include the public footpath.

A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order map may be seen free of charge on the Council’s website (Traffic Orders) and at Stockton Customer Service Centre, Central Library, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees during normal office hours. Copies of the Order and map may be bought there for the price of £1.

The Order came into force on 5th June 2024, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 of the Act, within 6 weeks from 2nd July 2024, make an application to the High Court.
