What is happening?

The Order came into effect on 20th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(School Road, Copford)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Road, Copford in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 570m south east of its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th July 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310761004 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via London Road, Western Approach, Warren Lane, Maldon Road and vice versa (access only into School Road, Copford Green, Birch Road, Hardys Green).

The Order came into effect on 20th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)

Order (No.13) 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 20th June 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads. Description: From its junction with Head Street to its junction with Cowdray Crescent a distance of approximately 550m.

Alternative Route: North Hill, Middleborough, North Station Road, The Albert, A133 Cowdray Avenue, St Andrews Avenue Roundabout, Ipswich Road, East Street, East Hill and High Street

Road: Cowdray Crescent, Colchester

Description: From its junction with High Street to its junction with High Street a distance of approximately 70m.

Alternative Route: No Diversion Route.

Road: Culver Street West, Colchester

Description: From is junction with Head Street to its end a distance of approximately 200m.

Alternative Route: No Diversion Route.

Road: Trinity Street, Colchester

Description: From its junction with Culver Street West to its junction with Sir Isaacs Walk a distance of approximately 130m.

Alternative Route: No Diversion Route.

Road: Sir Isaacs Walk, Colchester

Description: From its junction with Head Street to its junction with Trinity Street a distance of approximately 200m.

Alternative Route: No Diversion Route.

Road: Vint Crescent, Colchester

From its junction with Lexden Road to its junction with Lexden Road a distance of approximately 130m.

Alternative Route: Lexden Road

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.

Description: From the junction of Stanwell Street to the junction of Headgate a distance of approximately 325m

Alternative Route:

Diversion 1: Stanwell Street, Southway, St Botolphs Roundabout, Southway, Headgate. Diversion 2: Crouch Street, Southway, St Botolphs Roundabout, Osborne Street.

Road: Vineyard Gate, Colchester

Description: From its junction with Osborne Street to its end a distance of approximately 100m.

Alternative Route: No Diversion Available
