Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2024

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council made the above order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 24th June 2024, the Highway Authority being satisfied that access to the said road should be prohibited because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.

The effect of the Order, which came into effect on 24th June 2024, was to temporarily close the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below at such times as traffic management signs may be erected to notify highway users of the closure, and to implement temporary clearways on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2.

It is expected that the closures and clearways will be required as specified in Schedule 1 and 2. The Order may continue in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained.

Schedule 1 - Temporary Road Closures

Church Road, Stockton - Between its junctions with The Square (West) and Bath Lane - Monday 24th June 2024 -10:20am to 10:50am.

High Street, Stockton - From the southern extent of the northern bus loop to the north of the exit from The Shambles Car Park. - Wednesday 26 June 6pm - 6pm Thursday 27 June 2024

Schedule 2 - Temporary Clearway (No Stopping) - Wednesday 26 June 2024 5pm - Thursday 27 June 2024 6pm

High Street, Stockton (West side of west carriageway) - From a point approximately 35 metres north of its junction with Yarm Lane in a northerly direction for approximately 55 metres (except buses).

Prince Regent Street, Stockton (east side) - From a point approximately 40 metres north of its junction with Yarm Lane, this being the first point that the lay-by attains its full width, in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 58 metres (except buses).

Prince Regent Street, Stockton (west side) - From a point approximately 42 metres north of its junction with Yarm Lane, this being the first point that the lay-by attains its full width, in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 33 metres to the first point where the lay-by decreases in width (except buses).
