Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions due to Works.

What is happening?

(Footpath 10, Canvey Island)

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 10, Canvey Island, in the Borough of Castle Point. From the junction with Link Road to its junction with Lekoe Road for approximately 261 metres.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 08 July 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas governor replacement works are undertaken.

The alternative route will be via Lekoe Road, Somnes Avenue, Link Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 08 July 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Church Road, Barling Magna)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Barling Magna in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 330m north east of its junction Little Wakering Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd July 2024 for 14 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP022S50-2189 - GTM).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new foul connection works are undertaken by GTM.

An alternative route is available via Barling Road and vice versa (with access only into Mucking Hall Road and Church Road).

The Order will come into effect on 4th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Church Road, Vange)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Vange in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 40m north of its junction with Osborne Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd July 2024 for 1 night (2200-2300), or where stated on a valid permit (KL701FSS2-24-77-230724 - Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, Clay Hill Road, Timberlog Lane, Mopsies Roundabout, Broadmayne, Broadmayne Roundabout, Church Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 4th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Maple Mead, Great Burstead and South Green)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maple Mead, Great Burstead and South Green in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 30m north east of its junction with Langham Crescent for a distance of approximately 10m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd July 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30067738537 - UK Power Networks).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Alternative routes are available via

1. Maple Mead, Gatwick View, Langham Crescent (with access only Maple Mead).

2. Langham Crescent, Gatwick View, Maple Mead, Southend Road (with access only into Maple Mead).

The Order will come into effect on 4th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tye Common Road, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Wiggins Lane for a distance of approximately 450m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th July 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WF9J444TETH - Openreach).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/ or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole access works are undertaken by Openreach.

Alternative routes are available via:

1. Tye Common Road, London Road, Laindon Road, Noak Hill Road Roundabout, Noak Hill Road, Laindon Common Road, Clock House Road, Tye Common Road.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of road in the Borough of Basildon, as detailed in the Schedule.

The works are scheduled to commence after 4th July 2024, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent Gas.

The Order will come into effect on 4th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Victoria Avenue, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd July 2024 for 40 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231010706 - Breheny Civil Engineering). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while traffic signal improvement works are undertaken by Breheny Civil Engineering.

An alternative route is available via Cheapside West, Vernon Avenue, London Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 4th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Daws Heath Road, Rayleigh)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Daws Heath Road, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from its junction with Arterial Road to its junction with Wyburns Avenue East a distance of approximately 580m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th July 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2362530 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Alternative routes are available via:

Arterial Road, Progress Road, Rayleigh Road, Eastwood Road and Daws Heath Road or Daws Heath Road, Eastwood Road, High Street, High Road, Rayleigh Weir Slip Road From A129 To A127 Eastbound and Arterial Road.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hatley Gardens, Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with West Green to its junction with High Road a distance of approximately 265m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th July 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2365789 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Little Wakering Road, Barling Magna in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 315m south of its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th July 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M106801 - Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pipe repair works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Little Wakering Road,Barling Road, Silchester Corner, Southend Road, Little Wakering Road and vice versa (with access only into Little Wakering Road).

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)

(No.16) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Basildon as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Basildon Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 20th June 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

(No.17) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of road in the Borough of Basildon as specified in schedule 1 to this Order.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
