Canal Road, Temporary Road Closure Due To Construction Works

Somerset Council Temporary Closure of Canal Road, Taunton

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Canal Road - from 216 metres east of the junction with Priory Bridge Road, eastwards for a total distance of 152 metres. This Order will enable Milestone Infrastructure Ltd to carry out construction works on behalf of Somerset Council.

The Order becomes effective on 27th June 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 3rd July 2024 and last until 28 March 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 269 days. There is no alternative route for this closure.
