What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (FERN STREET, RAMSBOTTOM) TEMPORARY CLOSURE 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-
Fern Street, Ramsbottom - from its junction Meadow Heights in a northerly direction to No.48 (a distance of approximately 75 metres).
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate electricity connection works.
The alternative route will be via Fir Street and Peel Brow and vice-versa
The Order will come into operation on Monday 01 July 2024 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 6 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 2 weeks.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (PIMHOLE ROAD, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE & PROHIBITION OF WAITING/LOADING ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding along :-
Pimhole Road, Bury - carriageway and footway, from School Street to Fountain Street/Hurst Street.
The effect will also be to prohibit vehicles from waiting and loading/unloading at any time along the length(s) of streets) as follows:-
Ormrod Street, Bury - Full length (to be implemented in areas as required) Fountain Street, Bury - Full length (to be implemented in areas as required) Hurst Street, Bury - Full length (to be implemented in areas as required) The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate water main diversion and manhole upsizing works.
The alternative routes will be via Hurst Street, Heywood Street, Rochdale Road & Pimhole Road and via Pimhole Road, Rochdale Road, Heywood Street, Ormrod Street & Fountain Street
The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 08 July 2024 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 9 weeks.
