What is happening?

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Armed Forces Parade 2024

Coventry City Council (“the Council”) under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, as amended, has made a temporary Order (“the Order”), the purpose of which is to facilitate the holding of and to enable members of the public to attend Armed Forces Parade 2024

The Order will come into effect at 00.01 hours on Saturday 29th June 2024 and will remain in effect until 13.00 hours on Sunday 30th June 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding along Bayley Lane, Hay Lane, Cuckoo and Pepper Lane in both directions.

The effected roads will have advanced warning signs two (2) weeks prior to the parade, however there will be maintained access to any properties in this area. The Order will prohibit vehicles to such an extent and at such time as indicated signs on site.

Exemptions will be provided for any vehicle being used in connection with the event, emergency service vehicles, any person upon the direction of or with the permission of a police officer in uniform.

Pedestrian access to all properties within the restriction and access through the restriction will be maintained along defined routes throughout the period of the closure.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Canley Road, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Canley Road from its junction with Ingram Road to its junction with Lynbrook Road.

The Order will come into effect at 9:30 hours on Monday 1st July 2024 and is required to enable a Long Communications pipe to be repaired and renewed safely on the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 18.00 hours on Tuesday 9th July 2024. The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic will be as signed on site. Exemptions will be provided for:

a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

d) local vehicular access to Canley Road.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Public Right Of Way/Footpath Closure FP Humber Avenue And Irving Road, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of which will be a closure of the length of the footpath detailed in the Schedule below (when appropriate signage is in place).

The Order will come into operation at 00.01 hours on Friday 5th July 2024, and is required to enable Severn Trent Water to carry out and install a new water supply connection safely.

The maximum duration of this Order is six (6) months but it is expected that the works will be completed by Tuesday 9th July 2024. The specific closures times would apply as the signage indicates on site.

• That length of Right of Way/Footpath on between Humber Avenue and Irving Road.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements A45 Birmingham Road, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from traveling at a speed exceeding 40mph along Birmingham Road A45 (in both directions) between its junctions with Oak Lane and Dunchurch Highway.

The Order will come into effect from 00.01 hours on Saturday 6th July 2024 and is required to allow BT to complete repair works to a damaged access chamber safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 00.01 hours on Saturday 13th July 2024. The specific restriction times will apply as the signage indicates on site.

Exemptions will be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

Temporary Public Right Of Way/Footpath Closures FP Cressage Road Side No. 13 And FP Cressage Road From Rear Of No 1 To Side Of No 17 Cressage Road

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of which would be a closure of the length of footpath detailed in the Schedule below (when appropriate signage is in place).

The Order would come into operation at 00.01 hours on Thursday 11th July 2024, and is required to enable BT to safely install new ducting on the said Footpaths.

The maximum duration of this Order is six (6) months but it is expected that the works would be completed by Friday 12th July 2024. Alternative route for pedestrians affected by the closure would be as signed on site.

The Schedule

• That length of Right of Way/Footpath on Cressage Road extending from the side of No. 13 Cressage Road for its entirety and continuing from the rear of No 1 to the side of No 17 Footway with Cressage Road.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Claverdron Road, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Claverdon Road from its junction with Shelfield Close to its junction with Chadwick Close.

The Order would come into effect on Monday 8th July 2024 and is required to enable Severn Tent Water to carry out water connection renewals safely on the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Thursday 11th July 2024. The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site. Exemptions would be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to Claverdon Road

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Notice Of Making City Of Coventry (Eaton Road) (One Way & Prohibition Of Left Turn) Order 2024

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Order (“the Order”), which comes into operation on 28th June 2024.

The effect of the Order shall be to:-

i) prohibit the left turn from Ringway St Patrick’s clockwise off slip on to Eaton Road; and

ii) make Eaton Road one way, from its junction with Ringway St Patrick’s clockwise off slip to a point 36 metres south of said junction Vehicles will only be permitted to travel in a northerly direction (towards the ring road).

The measures will facilitate the free flow of traffic in the area.

A copy of this Notice, the sealed Order, plan and Statement of Reasons may be inspected at the Council House (Reception) Earl Street, Coventry during normal office hours or viewed on the Council’s website at www.coventry.gov.uk/tro

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder, or of any relevant Act, has not been complied with may, within six (6) weeks from today, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Northbrook AC 10K Fun Run And Allesley Festival 2024

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding on the roads listed and detailed in the below Schedule.

The Order would come into effect from 12.00 hours on Saturday 6th July 2024 until 14:30 hours on the same day and then again at 08:00 hours until 12.00 hours on Sunday 7th July 2024 and is required to facilitate the safe operation of the procession on the said roads.

The Order would prohibit vehicles to such an extent and at such time as indicated by marshals and prescribed traffic signs. Diversion routes for the closures will be assigned. Roads will be re-opened on a rolling basis if it is safe to do so.

Surrounding roads would be managed by Saltern Event Support. VMS messages will be on signage in the local area.

The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site and as indicated by marshals and prescribed traffic signs.

Closures will be marshalled by Northbrook AC volunteers and the Chief Marshal who has undertaken chapter 8 training.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site. Pedestrian access to all properties within the restriction and access through the restriction will be maintained along defined routes throughout the period of the closure.

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the event; or an authorised traffic management event marshal ;

(d) pedestrian access to all properties within the restriction and access through the restriction will be maintained along defined routes throughout the period of the closure.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Godiva Festival 2024

Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to make a temporary Order to enable safe pedestrian access and egress at the War Memorial Park for members of the public attending the Godiva Festival 2024 (“the Event”).

The Order would take effect from 17:00 on Friday 5th July 2024 and remain in force until 20.30 hours on Sunday 7th July 2024

The effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading, or unloading, entering or proceeding on the lengths of road set out in the Schedule below. The restriction would apply at such times and to such extent when prescribed traffic signs are being displayed.

Exemptions to the Order would be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or an authorised event marshal;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles when necessary at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the Event.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Phase 1

Leamington Road (northbound carriageway only) from its junction with Daventry Road to junction with Warwick Road. Access to festival car park only.

Leamington Road southbound carriageway open as normal.

Phase 1 restrictions shall apply as follows:-

Saturday 6 July 11.00-23.59
Sunday 7 July 11.00.20.30

Phase 2
Stivichall Croft and Coat of Arms Bridge Road between junction with Baginton Road and junction with Green Lane.

Kenilworth Road, between junction with Davenport Road and Warwick Road (traffic to be diverted via Davenport Road - Spencer Road - left turn only onto Warwick Road)

Warwick Road between Michaelmas Road and Leamington Road (traffic to be diverted via Michaelmas Road - Stoney Road - Humphrey Burton Road - left turn only onto Leamington Road)

Phase 2 restrictions shall apply as follows:-

Friday 5 July 22.00-23.30
Saturday 6 July 22.00-23.30
Sunday 7 July 18.30-20.00

Dynamic closures of Kenilworth Road at junction with Earlsdon Avenue South, to manage safe egress of pedestrians. Traffic held and allowed through when safe to do so.

All or part of the Phase 2 closures may be implemented, during any of the Phase 1 closure times, in the event of an unplanned audience egress, safety incident, or site evacuation.

Tow zone areas
The following roads are designated ‘Tow Zones’. During the hours of the Phase 1 closures, any vehicles illegally parked and/or causing obstructions to the highway or footway during these times may be removed:

Kenilworth Road between junction with Warwick Road and Kenpas Highway

Leamington Road between junction with Warwick Road and Stivichall Croft

Coat of Arms Bridge Road (entire length) and Stivichall Croft (entire length)

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Nightingale Lane, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Nightingale Lane for its entire length.

The Order would come into effect from 08:00 hours on Thursday 11th July 2024 and is required to facilitate water connection renewal works on the highway to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 18:00 hours on Wednesday 17th July 2024. The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.

Exemptions would be provided for:

a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works

d) local vehicular access to Nightingale Lane

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Broadway, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Broadway.

The closure is to commence from its junction with Albany Road and terminate with its junction with Mayfield Road.

The Order would come into effect from 08:00 hours on Monday 8th July 2024 and is required to facilitate water connection renewal works on the highway to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 18:00 hours on Friday 12th July 2024. The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.

Exemptions would be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works

(d) local vehicular access to Broadway Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Bishop Street, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Bishop Street commencing from its junction with Tower Street and proceeding for approximately 10m in length in a northerly direction along the said road.

The Order would come into effect on Monday 8th July 2024 and is required to allow Cadent Gas to rectify an engineering defect safely on the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Friday 12th July 2024. The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site. Exemptions would be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to Bishop Street

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
