(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians, equestrians, cyclists and motorised vehicles from proceeding along those lengths of Public Byways specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said lengths of byways are unaffected.
RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The existing route of Byway SC14 to be closed commences at point A on the map at National Grid Reference (‘NGR’) SP6380 4456. The route travels generally east along byways SC14 and SC43, crossing the parish boundary with Abthorpe. The byway then continues as RA24 for a total distance of approximately 2308 metres to terminate at point B on the map at NGR SP6600 4474 at the junction with Abthorpe Road. The route to be closed is shown on the map by a solid black line between points A-B.
REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of health and safety due to extensive surface damage.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 2nd July 2024 and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: There is no suitable alternative route.
