(Clay Pit Lane, Leeds)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highways (works to install cable and joint bays) Leeds City Council has today made an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Clay Pit Lane, Leeds, Leeds in the Little London & Woodhouse Ward at its junction with Woodhouse Lane. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Southbound Diversion: Woodhouse Lane, Merrion Street, New Briggate, North Street, Sheepscar Street South, Clay Pit Lane. Northbound Diversion: Woodhouse Lane, Blackman Lane, New Woodhouse Lane, Woodhouse Lane, Merrion Street, New Briggate, North Street, Sheepscar Street South, Clay Pit Lane. Essential access to premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Sunday 7th July 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by Sunday 4th August 2024. The closure will be in place between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs on Sundays only. A Coultate. Ref: RC307594.
(Monk Bridge Road and Stainbeck Avenue, Meanwood, Leeds)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s) for one way road closure required for central island construction works. Leeds City Council has made an Order to the effect of: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to: Travel one way of Monk Bridge Road, Meanwood, Leeds in the Moortown Ward, Weetwood Ward from its junctions with Gordon Drive towards Stonegate Road; and Travel one way of Stainbeck Avenue, Meanwood, Leeds in the Moortown Ward, Weetwood Ward from its junctions with Bentley Lane towards Stonegate Road; and Turn right onto Stainbeck Avenue from the junction of Stonegate Road. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Monk Bridge Road Diversion – Shaw Lane, Grove Lane, Meanwood Road and vice versa. Stainbeck Avenue – Stainbeck Road, Stainbeck Lane, Stonegate Road and vice versa. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 1st July 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Kirkgate and Harper Street, Leeds)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council as Traffic authority for Kirkgate and Harper Street in the Leeds Metropolitan District has made the LEEDS CITY COUNCIL (KIRKGATE AND HARPER STREET, LEEDS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14(1) as there is a likelihood of danger to the public due to a collapsed building. The effect of the Order is to;- 1. Close the following roads to traffic:- Kirkgate – from its junction with Wharf Street to a point 20 metres Northwest of its junction with Harper Street; Harper Street – from its junction with Kirkgate to its junction with the yard to the north to the Duck & Drake public house. 2. Suspend the One Way Traffic restriction (to permit Two Way Traffic flow) on:- Kirkgate – from a point 20 metres Northwest of its junction to Harper Street to its junction with Call Lane Harper Street – from its junction with the yard to the north of the Duck & Drake public house to its junction with New York Street/York Street DIVERSIONARY ROUTE: A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closures will be available via: Cross York Street, New York Street, York Street, St Peters Street, Vicar Lane, Kirkgate. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. PERIOD OF WORKS/RESTRICTIONS: The closure will continue in effect from 24 June 2024 for 18 months provided that if the likelihood of danger to the public from the collapsed building is removed within a shorter period, this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. (Buslingthorpe Lane, Meanwood, Leeds)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s) for Road closure required for Northern Gas Network works Leeds City Council intends in not less than 7 days to make an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Buslingthorpe Lane, Meanwood, Leeds in the Chapel Allerton Ward at its junction with Meanwood Road. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Meanwood Road, Sackville Street, Sheepscar Street North, Buslingthorpe Lane. Buslingthorpe Lane, Sheepscar Street North, Sheepscar Street South, Meanwood Road. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 22nd July 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. Leeds City Station Improvement Works (Temporary No Stopping Except For Hackney Carriages) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following traffic restriction for the purpose of facilitating safe operation of the highway during works associated with the improvement of Leeds City Station. No Stopping Except For Hackney Carriages on: 1. Swinegate; from a point 18m west of the junction with Bridge End, for a distance of 34m. 2. The Calls; from a point 12m east of the junction with Crown Street, for a distance of 22m. 3. The Calls; from a point 54m east of the junction with Crown Street, for a distance of 48m. 4. High Court; from a point 5m east of the junction with Wharf Street, for a distance of 15m. 5. Kirkgate; from a point 22m east of the junction with High Court, for a distance of 40m.The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 8 July 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Leeds has made the following Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: the LEEDS CITY COUNCIL (NEWMARKET APPROACH PUBLIC PATH) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024. The Order closes to pedestrians and all other users – The length of public path located between Halton Moor Road and Pontefract Lane/north of Newmarket Approach. The diversion route is via Halton Moor Road, Newmarket Lane and the A63 Pontefract Lane and vice versa. The Order is necessary in to enable works to be undertaken on or near the said path. The Order will come into operation on 8 July 2024 and may continue in effect until 8 January 2025, or until such time as the works are complete (which is anticipated to be 8 November 2024). (Speed Limit) (Nos.1,12,17 & 21) Orders 2022
Hyde Park, Horsforth, Guisley & Rawdon and Kippax & Methley Wards
Leeds City Council has today made the above Orders under its powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Orders, which come into force on 1 July 2024 is to introduce 20MPH Zones on the full lengths of:
SL0122 – Maple Chase; Maple Gardens; Sandringham Dr and Victoria Gardens; Hyde Park.

(Speed Limit) (No.10) Order 2023
Oulton Lane & Rothwell Lane, Rothwell, Leeds – 30 , 40 & 50 Mph Speed Limits
Leeds City Council has today made the above Order under its powers contained in the Rd Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order, which comes into force on 1 July 2024 is to introduce: 1. A 30 Mph Speed Limit on Oulton Lane; from its junction with Gillett Lane, easterly for 502.5m. 2. A 40 Mph Speed Limit on: a. Oulton Lane; from a point 502.5m east of its junction with Gillett Lane, in NE direction, to its merger with Rothwell Lane; and b. Rothwell Lane; from a point 501m NW of its junction with Leeds Road, in a generally westerly direction, to its merger with Oulton Lane. 3. A 50 Mph Speed Limit on Rothwell Lane; from its junction with Leeds Road; in a generally north westerly direction, for a distance of 501m. (Traffic Regulation) (Waiting Restriction) (No.30) Order 2014 Amendment No.1 Order 2024
Leeds City Council proposes to make the above Order under its powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the proposed Order will be to introduce the following Provisions : No Waiting At Any Time on: Ingle Avenue, Morley North (i) the north-east side – From its junction with the projected south eastern kerb line of Woodlands Drive for a distance of 40 metres in a south easterly direction and ; (ii) south-west side – From its junction with the projected south eastern kerb line of Horsfall Street for a distance of 26 metres in a south easterly direction No Waiting Monday to Friday 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm (inclusive) on: Woodlands Drive, Morley North, the north side – From 39.5m NE of its junction with the projected N eastern kerb line of Ingle Ave for 87m in a north easterly then south easterly direction. An Existing Order is to be amended so as to be consistent with the proposals. Full details of the proposals together with plans showing the affected lengths of highway and statement of reasons for making the Order are available on request by e-mailing the address below.
