What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(MURRAYBURN ROAD AREA) (TEMPORARY ROAD

RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) 

ORDER 2024 – TEMP/24/112

The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate carriageway and footway resurfacing works, no person shall between 19:00hrs & 07:00hrs Mon-Sat: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on: (i) Hailesland Rd, from its jnct with Murrayburn Rd, south-eastwards for 30m; (ii) Murrayburn Drv, from its jnct with Murrayburn Rd, north-westwards and then southwestwards for 66m; (iii) Murrayburn Gate, at its jnct with Murrayburn Rd (at the roundabout); & (iv) Murrayburn Rd, from the eastern kerbline of the west vehicular access to Westside Plaza, eastwards to its jnct with Murrayburn Drv, provided that no more than one of the measures described in these sections shall be enacted at any time; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle on both sides of: (i) Hailesland Rd, from its jnct with Murrayburn Rd, southeastwards for 30m; (ii) Murrayburn Drv, from its jnct with Murrayburn Rd, north-westwards and then south-westwards for 66m; & (iii) Murrayburn Rd, from the eastern kerbline of the west vehicular access to Westside Plaza, north-eastwards to 32m north-east of its jnct Murrayburn Drv. Existing restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in (b). “The City of Edinburgh Council (Murrayburn Gate Area, Edinburgh) (One-way and Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Traffic Regulation Order 1997” will be suspended between 19:00hrs & 07:00hrs Mon-Sat, to facilitate alternative routes described below. The alternative routes for vehicular traffic are via: (i) Hailesland Road – Hailesland Rd & Murrayburn Rd; (ii) Murrayburn Drv – Murrayburn Approach, Sighthill Drv & Parkhead Drv; (iii) Murrayburn Gate – Murrayburn Rd; or Murrayburn Rd, Wester Hailes Rd (B701), Clovenstone Rd & Hailesland Rd; & (iv) Murrayburn Rd – Wester Hailes Rd (B701), Clovenstone Rd & Hailesland Rd. The order shall have effect from 1/7/24 to 19/7/24.
