What is happening?
Temporary Closure of Public Footpath N64/57, Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along the Public Right of Way N64/57, Gillingham from grid reference ST796259 and ST796260, a distance of approximately 420 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It came into operation on 18 January 2024 for a period of 26 weeks, but has been extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 18 January 2026 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
This Order will enable safe access to construct a housing estate.
An alternative route will be put in place to enable travel around the closed section

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath N1/3, Shaftesbury
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath N1/3, Shaftesbury from grid reference ST871241 to grid reference ST870239, a distance of approximately 350 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 29 July 2024 for a period of 26 weeks, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 August 2024.
This Order is required to allow Wessex Water to carry out installation of a new water main to connect a new development (Niveus Walk) to the network.

The County of Dorset (A357, Shillingstone) (30mph Speed Limit) (No. 5) Order 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset has made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffi c Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
2. When the Order comes into operation on 5 July 2024 the effect of the Order is to extend the existing 30mph speed limit on the A357 in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 190 metres.

Dorset Council (Part of Footpath 93, Thorncombe) Public Path Diversion Order 2024
The above order, made on 14 June 2024 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert footpath 93 Thorncombe as shown on the order map as follows:
From the existing path:
The whole width of the footpath from ST 3744 0158 at Sadborow Lane generally south then south south west through Vembury Farm to the unaffected part of footpath 93 at ST 3724 0101 (No recorded width).
To the new path:
From Sadborow Lane at ST 3747 0162 south east then south then generally south west across the fi eld to ST 3732 0117 and continuing generally south west across the fi eld to the unaffected part of footpath 93 at ST 3724 0101. Width 2.0 metres between ST 3747 0162 and ST 3724 0101. Limitations: Pedestrian gates to BS5709:2018 at ST 3747 0162 and ST 3732 0117.
A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal offi ce hours. Copies are also available on our website at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/row-orders.

If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confi rmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
