What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL (GREENLAND LANE,
EAST COWICK (PART))
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed along part of Greenland Lane, East Cowick for 200 metres either side of the bridge. The reason for the closure is to
enable the proposed bridge repair works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed by
13 December 2025. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Greenland Lane, Johnny Moor Long Lane, Moorends Road,
North Common Road, Selby Road and Thorne Road.
The road will be closed to all traffic. The Order will
commence 5 July 2024 and continue in force for a
period not exceeding 18 months or until the works
which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
