What is happening?
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PART OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH FP0603022 BARTON, PRESTON CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 24th July, 2024, remaining in force until the 24th January, 2025, or until the works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over that length of Public Footpath FP0603022 Barton, Preston City, indicated below:-
Part of Public Footpath FP0603022 Barton, Preston City, from Jepps Avenue at Point A (SD 5174 – 3724) in a generally south, south westerly direction for approximately 190 metres to Garstang Road at Point B (SD 5159 – 3714).
The temporary closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpath.
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpath, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpath, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works.
