What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Winston Churchill Avenue) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.78) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 3rd July 2024 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
WINSTON CHURCHILL AVENUE (WESTBOUND)
From its junction with Bradford Junction Roundabout to Winston Churchill Avenue Roundabout.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate frame and cover repair works to manhole on Winston Churchill Avenue 120m west of junction with Somers Road.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 3rd July 2024 to 4th July 2024 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 20:00 to 06:00.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Holbrook Road, Lake Road, Cornmill Street, Market Way, Alfred Road, Anglesea Road, King Richard I Road, Winston Churchill Avenue and Bradford Junction Roundabout, Victoria Road North, Baileys Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
