Eastern Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Eastern Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.87) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) and 14(4)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 28th June 2024 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
EASTERN ROAD (SOUTHBOUND)
From its junction with Eastern Road Roundabout to its junction with Anchorage Road.
From its junction with Anchorage Road to Airport Service Road.
ANCHORAGE ROAD
From its junction with Eastern Road to Bilton Way.
B) TEMPORARY SPEED REDUCTION TO 30MPH
EASTERN ROAD
From its junction with Eastern Road Roundabout to its junction with Anchorage Road.
From its junction with Anchorage Road to Airport Service Road.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate water works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 28th June 2024 to 14th July 2024 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Eastern Road Roundabout, A27, Portsbridge Roundabout, London Road, Copnor Road, Norway Road, Anchorage Road and from junction of Bilton Way, Anchorage Road, Robinson Way, Airport Service Road and vice versa.
Pedestrians will be diverted from Eastern Road between Airport Service Road and Eastern Road Roundabout to the footway adjacent to the northbound carriageway for the durations of the works.
Cycles will be diverted from Eastern Road between Airport Service Road and Eastern Road Roundabout to Airport Service Road, Robinson Way, Anchorage Road, or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion for the durations of the works.
