ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Kennington, The Avenue Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting Date of Order: 15/07/2024

Coming into force: 26/07/2024 This Order is being introduced because of the resurfacing of the carriageway between St Swithuns Road and Bagley Wood Road which is anticipated to be completed 2 August 2024. Works will operate between 20:00 and 06:00 hours weekday overnight. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit through traffic proceeding or waiting in part of The Avenue. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Kennington Road, Radley Road, Twelve Acre Drive, A4183, A34, A423, Kennington Road and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T13650/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Abingdon, A4138 Lodge Hill Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 24/06/2024

Coming into force: 05/07/2024 This Order is being introduced because of Deck refurbishment of the bridge carrying the A1483 over the A34 working in collaboration with Southern Gas which is anticipated to be completed 26 August 2024.

The closure is for Oxford Road (A4183) from Dunmore Road over Lodge Hill interchange to Sugworth Lane junction. Works are planned for 5 weekend road closures from 9pm Friday evening to 6am Monday inclusive within the above dates. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the A415 to Marcham Interchange to A34 to Hinksey Hill Interchange to Hinksey Hill, to Oxford Road and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref T13934/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Marcham Parish, A338 Wantage Road -Reduced Speed Limit Date of Order: 15/07/2024

Coming into force: 22/07/2024 This Order is being introduced because of repairs to the bridge over the River Ock. The speed of vehicles will be reduced from the national 60mph limit to 30mph in that part of the A338 at 'Noah's Ark' (south of Frilford) between Mumby's Live-In Care and The School House. A short section at the central work area will be reduced to 10mph. Works are anticipated to be completed 12 September 2024. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14000/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Benson, Oxford Road (B4009) Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 08/07/2024

Coming into force: 17/07/2024 This Order is being introduced because of construction of the Benson Relief Road that is anticipated to take 10 weeks to complete.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the Oxford Road (B4009). Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via the A4074 - Church Rd and vice-versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T13927/MR)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Fyfield and Tubney Footpath 19 (221/19/10) and Longworth Footpath 22 (288/22/1)

Date of Order: 08/01/2024 Came into force: 11/01/2024 This Order continues in force a closure on 21.12.2023 by emergency notice and was introduced because of safety concerns over a wooden footbridge requiring repairs. The completion date for repairs is currently unknown due to financial allocation and prioritising needs.

The effect of the Order is to close temporarily the whole section of the footpath Nos. 19 (221/19/10) and 22 (288/22/1) that lead to the bridge. The alternative route is signed via the parallel Thames Path.

Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed sections of footpath. Appropriate signs are displayed to indicate the measures are in force.

With the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport the closure will remain in place until 10 July 2025 or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T13223/RAG)

FARINGDON ROAD, ABINGDON PROPOSED ZEBRA CROSSING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council as the local highway authority under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers proposes to construct a Zebra crossing (a crossing for use by pedestrians) in Abingdon at the following location to help improve pedestrian safety in the area:

Faringdon Road - approximately 270* metres northwest of its junction with Spring Road, adjacent to St. Helen and St. Katharine school. (*All dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the crossing.)

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by 26 July 2024. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.
