What is happening?
SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
(Coniston Road and Windermere Road, Patchway) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with gas main upgrade works. The order became operative from 1 July 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 4 week duration. Schedule: 1. Coniston Road, Patchway – from Gloucester Road north westwards for 100m; 2. Windermere Road, Patchway – from Coniston Road south westwards for 40m Alternative routes: 1a. Highwood Road, Hayes Way, Gloucester Road and vice versa; 1b. Lower Thirlmere Road; 2. Durban Road, Rodway Road and vice versa
(Braemar Crescent, Filton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the entire length of Braemar Crescent. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with lead replacement works.
The order will be operative from 22 July 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 4 days duration.
Alternative route: Braemar Avenue
(Park Lane, Frampton Cotterell) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, that length of Park Lane which extends from Park Avenue southwards for 200m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with gas main upgrade works. The order will be operative from 22 July 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration. Alternative route: Badminton Road, Beesmoor Road, Heather Avenue and vice versa
(Bowling Road, Chipping Sodbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of the Bowling Road southbound footway which extends from a point adjacent to property No.53 Bowling Road southwards for its entire length. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with footway reconstruction works. The order will be operative from 22 July 2024 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 weeks duration. Alternative route: Northwards to Lilliput Court cul-de-sac, across the pedestrian crossing point, southwards along the other side of the road, under the bridge and southwards to the zebra crossing

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:- a) close, temporarily, to Vehicles the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and b) suspend, temporarily, when signs are covered, the South Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads, District of Northavon – Second Severn Crossing) (Weight Restriction Zone) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) (Uni-Directional Weight Restriction) Order 1996 in so far as it relates to the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice to facilitate the alternative routes for heavy vehicles; and c) suspend, temporarily, when signs are covered, the South Gloucestershire Council (Abson Road, Abson) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 2006 in so far as it relates to the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this order is hereby suspended, temporarily, for the duration of this order. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with works to resurface and reconstruct the carriageway.
The order will be operative from 11 July 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The restrictions however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 10 nights duration, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, in respect of each location. For the alternative routes, see Schedule 4 to this notice. Schedule 1 – Closures 1. A403 Severn Road Roundabout, Severn Beach – for the entire length and extent of the roundabout; 2. A403 Severn Road, Pilning – from Aust Road northwards for 500m; 3.Grovesend Road, Thornbury – from A38 to Midland Way and Morton Way; 4. A4175 Station Road, Kingswood – from Anchor Road to Bridge Road; 5. Freezing Hill Lane, Cold Ashton – at its junction with A420 Chippenham Road; 6. A420 Chippenham Road, Cold Ashton – at its junction with Freezing Hill Lane and A420 Toghill; 7. A420 Toghill, Cold Ashton – at its junction with A420 Chippenham Road; 8. A432 Kennedy Way, Yate and Chipping Sodbury – from Normandy Drive to Sundridge Park; 9. A432 Badminton Road, Old Sodbury – from Chapel Lane eastwards for 700m Schedule 2 – Suspension of Weight Restriction 1. B4055 – from its junction with Blackhorse Hill at Easter Compton in a north westerly direction to its junction with the B4064 at Pilning Cross; 2. B4064 – from its junction with B4055 at Pilning Cross Hands in a north westerly direction to its junction with A403 at Redwick crossroads; 3. B4461 – from its junction with M4 eastbound slip road at Aust in an easterly direction to its junction with B4061 at Alveston Schedule 3 – Suspension of Weight Restriction Abson Road – that length which extends from its junction with Holbrook Lane, Wick to its junction with Oak Tree Avenue, Pucklechurch.
