What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Bartlow Road, Castle Camps (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-861

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Bartlow Road, Castle Camps as lies between Hill Top and Hill Farm.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Bartlow Road – High Street – Haverhill Road – Haverhill Road, Shudy Camps – Nosterfield End – New Road – Carsey Hill – Church Road – Church Road, Castle Camps and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 30 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 29 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs 30 July 2024.

Logans Way, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-863

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Logans Way, Cambridge as lies between St Andrews Road and Mariners Way.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 14 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 13 January 2026 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 16:00hrs 14 July 2024.

Shirley Road, Histon (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-866

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Shirley Road, Histon as lies between Number 32 and Aingers Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Aingers Road – Merton Road – Somerset Road – Shirley Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate sluice valve repair and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8 July and 10 July 2024.

Newmarket Road (A1134), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE) ORDER 2024-876

Will be to temporarily suspend the bus lane as lies between River Lane and Cheddars Lane.

During the period this Order remains in force Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Streets, Cambridge) (Bus Lanes) Order 2022; Schedule 1 Roads and parts of roads on which any vehicle other than a pedal cycle, bus, hackney carriage or private hire vehicle is prohibited at all times on all days Newmarket Road on its north side from a point 65 metres northeast of its junction with River Lane to a point 30 metres northeast of its junction with Garlic Row is hereby suspended.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near the bus lane and it will come into operation on 31 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 30 January 2026 whichever is the earlier.

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Newmarket Road (A1134), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 31 July and 2 August 2024.

Newton Road (C254), Whittlesford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-878

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Newton Road (C254), Whittlesford as lies between numbers 1 and 23.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Newton Road (C254) – Middlemoor Road – Shelford Road – Whittlesford Road, Little Shelford – High Street – Hauxton Road – High Street – High Street, Hauxton – Church Road – A10 – B1368 – Whittlesford Road, Newton and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 29 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 28 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 29 July and 2 August 2024.

High Street (C233), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2024-898 Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on High Street (C233), Cambridge as lies between Chelwood Road and Fishers Lane.

During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area E (Consolidation) Order 1993, Schedule 23, Part 3 Mandatory with flow cycle lane in which loading is permitted. High Street, Cherry Hinton on its east side from a point 15 metres north of the centre line of Chelwood Road to a point 16m south of the centre line of Fisher’s Lane. High Street Cherry Hinton on its west side from a point 7 metres north of the centreline of Chelwood Road to a point 14m south of the centreline of Fisher’s Lane is hereby suspended.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane and it will come into operation on 1 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 31 December 2025 whichever is the earlier.

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on High Street (C233), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:00hrs 1 July to 3 July 2024.

Queen Ediths Way, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-916

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Queen Ediths Way, Cambridge as lies between the A1134 and Wulfstan Way.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Cherry Hinton Road – Cherry Hinton Road (C235) – Mowbray Road – A1134 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8 July and 9 August 2024.

Harvey Goodwin Avenue, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-928

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Harvey Goodwin Avenue, Cambridge as lies between number 22 and Stretten Avenue.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Hale Avenue – Stretten Avenue and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 24 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 23 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 24 July 2024.

Burgoynes Road and Milton Road, Impington (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-929

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Burgoynes Road and Milton Road, Impington as lies between Percheron Close and Clay Close Lane; The Grove and Woodcock Close respectively.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Impington Lane – B1049 – A14 – A10 – Butt Lane (C206), Milton and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 22 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 23 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 22 July to 24 July 2024.

Haverhill Road, Stapleford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-930

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Haverhill Road, Stapleford as lies between Middlefield Cottage and Gog Magog Way.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A1307 – High Street, Babraham – Pampisford Road – Babraham Road, Pampisford – A605 – A1301 – Bury Road, Stapleford and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate development and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8 July and 22 July 2024.

Girton Footpath 13, Girton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2024-950

Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Girton Footpath 13, Girton as lies between Thornton Close and Cambridge Footpath 48, Cambridge.

The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate remedial and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 29 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 28 January 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 29 July and 31 August 2024.

Jeavons Lane, Cambourne (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-802

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Jeavons Lane, Cambourne as lies between High Street and Cressbrook Drive.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Jeavons Lane – Monkfield Lane – High Street – Back Lane – Lancaster Gate – Eastgate and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate Zebra crossing, give way feature installations and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 2 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 07:30hrs and 18:00hrs 2 July to 11 July 2024.

Holland Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-817

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Holland Street, Cambridge as lies between the A1134 and Carlyle Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A1134 – Fisher Street – Carlyle Road – Holland Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 9 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 8 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 9 July and 12 July 2024.

Kingfisher Walk, Linton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2024-818

Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Kingfisher Walk, Linton as lies between number 10 and The Woodlands.

The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 22 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 21 January 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs 22 July to 24 July 2024.

Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2024-825

Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge as lies between Botanic House and Francis House.

During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993; Schedule 23 – Part 2 Mandatory with flow cycle lane, Hills Road – On its west side, from a point 13 metres north of its junction with Brooklands Avenue to a point 70 metres south of its junction with Bateman Street is hereby suspended.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate disconnect water supply, install valve, hydrant and associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane and it will come into operation on 1 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 31 December 2025 whichever is the earlier.

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1 July and 14 July 2024.

Barnwell Road (A1134), Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-839

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Barnwell Road (A1134), Cambridge as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Coldhams Lane (C298) – A1134 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 31 December 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 22:00hrs 1 July and 05:00hrs 2 July 2024.

Granhams Road, Great Shelford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-840

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Granhams Road, Great Shelford as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A1301 – Station Road – Hinton Way – A1307 – Granhams Road, Cambridge and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 23 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 22 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 00:01hrs and 04:30hrs 23 July 2024.

Newmarket Road (A1134), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE) ORDER 2024-842

Will be to temporarily suspend the bus lane as lies between number 495 and Garlic Row.

During the period this Order remains in force the CCC (Various Streets, Cambridge) (Bus Lanes) Order 2022; Schedule 1 – Roads and parts of road on which any vehicle other than a pedal cycle, bus, hackney carriage or private hire vehicle is prohibited at all times on all days. Newmarket Road – On its north side from a point 65 metres northeast of its junction with River Lane to a point 35 metres northeast of its junction with Garlic Row is hereby suspended.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate communication pipe repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near the bus lane and it will come into operation on 31 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 30 January 2026 whichever is the earlier.

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Newmarket Road (A1134), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 31 July 2024.

Sleaford Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-844

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Sleaford Street, Cambridge as lies between River Place and Ainsworth Street.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Ainsworth Street – Hooper Street – Sturton Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 16 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 15 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 16 July and 19 July 2024.

High Street (B1052), Linton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-845

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street (B1052), Linton as lies between Mill Lane and Green Lane.

The alternative route for vehicles is via High Street – Bartlow Road – A1307 – B1052.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical linkbox installation and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 29 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 28 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 29 July and 31 July 2024.

Perne Avenue, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-846

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after seven days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Perne Avenue, Cambridge as lies between numbers 11 and 37.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Gisborne Road – Langham Road – A1134 and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 23 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 22 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 23 July and 26 July 2024.

High Street, East Chesterton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-848

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, East Chesterton as lies between numbers 210 and 224.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Green End Road – A1309 – Union Lane – High Street and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 30 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 29 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 30 July and 1 August 2024.

Willingham Road, Over (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-849

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Willingham Road, Over as lies between Mill Road and Long Furlong.

The alternative route for vehicles is via High Street – Church End – Station Road – Over Road, Swavesey – Station Road (C186) – High Street – Middle Watch – Boxworth End – A1307 – B1050 – Over Road, Willingham – Willingham Road, Willingham – Willingham Road, Over and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate relay lead supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 29 July 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 28 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 29 July and 1 August 2024.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 VARIOUS ROADS, SOUTH DIVISION (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) & (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN) & (TEMPORARY 50MPH AND 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024-963

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedules 1 and 2.

The alternative routes are shown in Schedule 1.

The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate new electrical connection and associated works.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 1 July 2024 and will continue until these works have finished or on the 31 December 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified in the Schedules. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended.
