What is happening?

The A5036 Trunk Road (Dunnings Bridge Road Eastbound And Westbound Carriageways) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice Is Hereby Given that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A5036 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Sefton, in the County of Merseyside, to enable Sefton Maritime Corridor Scheme works by the Sefton Local Authority to be carried out in safety.

The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the A5036 Trunk Road:

i. the eastbound and westbound carriageways, from the Park Lane Junction, to the Netherton Road Junction;

ii. the Atlantic Park Junction; (access will be maintained throughout the work)

iii. ban all cyclists and pedestrians, from the eastbound and westbound carriageways (as described at i. above).

The prohibitions are expected to take place overnight between 21:00 and 06:00 during a period starting on:

- Friday 2 August 2024 and ending on Saturday 3 August 2024;

- Monday 5 August 2024 and ending on Thursday 8 August 2024; and restarting again;

- Tuesday 25 February 2025 and ending on Monday 3 March 2025.

However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or continue until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A5036 Trunk Road and local roads will be well signed for all traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, traffic officer or winter maintenance vehicles. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs.
