TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND RESTRICTION OF VARIOUS ROADS (COTSWOLD DISTRICT - PARISHES OF FAIRFORD, KEMPSFORD AND MEYSEY HAMPTON) (WILTSHIRE COUNTY - PARISH OF MARSTON MEYSEY) (SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL -PARISH OF HANNINGTON & CASTLE EATON) 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council intend to make an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), the lengths of roads described in Schedule 1. The Order will also temporarily restrict the lengths of roads described in Schedule 2.

The roads fall within the Parishes of Fairford, Kempsford and Meysey Hampton in the Cotswold District of the County of Gloucestershire, within the Parish of Marston Meysey in the County of Wiltshire and the Parish of Hannington & Castle Eaton in the Borough of Swindon. The closures and restrictions are necessary because of the danger to the public using the roads during The Royal International Air Tattoo 2024, to provide a safe route for emergency vehicles and to provide effective traffic management.

The Order shall come into operation on the 17th July 2024 and it is anticipated that it shall continue in force until 21st July 2024 or for a period not exceeding eighteen months.

Area B

* From, "Green Triangle" north of Marston Meysey along Marston Meysey Lane to Airfield Crash Gate O, and to include 30m both sides of the 'The Street', Marston Meysey from the "Green Triangle" towards Marston Meysey.

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council, Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council intend to make an Order to restrict the direction of traffic temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended) on the lengths of roads ("the Roads") as described in the Schedules below:

Schedule 1

One Way Restriction

A one way restriction will exist on road numbers 3/172 Whelford Road, 40994 Top Road, 40995 Mount Pleasant, 3/175 High Street and 3/172 Chapel Road, commencing in a north westerly direction from a point at the junction of Road No. 3/172 Whelford Road and Road No. 40994 Top Road, continue in a north westerly direction on Road No. 40994 Top Road for approximately 325 metres and then, in a south westerly direction, on Road No 40995 Mount Pleasant for approximately 160 metres to a point at its junction with Road No. 3/175 High Street, Kempsford. Then travelling in a south easterly direction for approximately 465 metres to a point at its junction with Road No. 3/172 Chapel Road for approximately 163 metres in a north westerly direction to a point at its junction with Road No. 40994 Top Road where the restriction ceases.

Alternative Route:- There is no alternative route for this restriction.

It is anticipated that the road described in Schedule 1 will be restricted from

0600 hrs Friday 19th July through to 2100 hrs Sunday 21st July 2024.

Schedule 2

One Way Restriction

A one-way restriction shall apply to traffic heading north from the junction of Road No. 40994 Top Road, Kempsford with Road No 3/172, Whelford Road for approximately 4 km to its junction with the A417, London Road. Alternative Route:- As signed on site

Schedule 3

One Way Restriction

A one-way restriction shall apply to traffic heading southwest from a point at the junction of Road No. 3/172, (Whelford Road), with the A417 London Road, for approximately 4 km to its junction with Road No. 40994 Top Road, Kempsford. Alternative Route:- as signed on site

It is anticipated that the road described in Schedule 3 will be restricted between 1500 hrs and 2200 hrs on the 20th and 21st July 2024 daily.

Schedule 4

One Way Restriction

A one-way traffic restriction shall apply to traffic heading north from the junction of the A417 (London Road) and Road No. 40974, near to Butler Fuels, Fairford, and continuing north on Road No. 40974 for approximately 700 metres to its junction with Road No. 3/161 approximately 1 km east of Fairford.

It is anticipated that the road restriction will be between 0600 hrs and 1500 hrs on the 20th and 21st July 2024 daily.

The one-way restriction shall be reversed and apply to traffic travelling south on Road No 40974 from its junction with Road No 3/161 for approximately 700 metres to its junction with the A417 (London Road) near to Certus Energy, Fairford.

It is anticipated that the road restriction will be between 1500 hrs and 2200 hrs on the 20th and 21st July 2024 daily.

Schedule 5

One Way Restriction

A one-way traffic restriction shall apply to traffic travelling north-west on Road Number 3/174, from the junction of The Street, with Marston Meysey Lane, Marston Meysey, to the junction with High Street, Meysey Hampton, a distance of 2.4 km, to include that section of road within the County of Wiltshire.

It is anticipated that the road restriction will be between 0600 hrs and 1500 hrs on the 20th and 21st July 2024 daily.

The one-way restriction shall be reversed and apply to traffic travelling south-east on Road Number 3/174, from its junction with High Street, Meysey Hampton to its junction with The Street and Marston Meysey Lane, Marston Meysey.

It is anticipated that the road restriction will be between 1500 hrs and 2200 hrs on the 20th and 21st July 2024 daily. Alternative Route:- as signed on site. The restrictions are necessary to maintain public safety and provide a safe route for Emergency vehicles during the Royal International Air Tattoo, and to provide effective traffic management during the same.
