What is happening?

North Lanarkshire Council
Various Roads, Airdrie (Temporary Traffic Management) Order 2024

On 17 June 2024 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged with the public procession) on various roads in the Airdrie Area on the undernoted roads by reason of the planned event on or near the location.

Road Closures

B8053 Bore Road over it’s entire length.

A8010 Aitken Street, Chapel Street, High Street and Aitchison Street from the junction with B8053 Bore Road to the junction with Queen Street.

Queen Victoria Street over it’s entire length.

A89 Alexander Street from the junction with Queen Victoria Street to the junction with Stirling Street.

Stirling Street over it’s entire length.

B802 Bank Street over it’s entire length.

Hallcraig Street from its junction with B802 Bank Street to the junction with Baillies Lane.

Baillies Lane over it’s entire length.

A89 Graham Street and Clark Street from its junction with Baillies Lane to its junction with A73 Motherwell Street.

Springwells Avenue over it’s entire length.

Drumbathie Road from its junction with Springwells Avenue to its junction with B8053 Bore Road.

A73 Motherwell Street from its junction with A89 Clark Street to its junction with B8048 Braidenhill Road.

B8058 Braidenhill Road (southern footway) from its junction with A73 Motherwell Street to its junction with Crofton Wynd.

Alternative route for vehicles on B8058 Braidenhill Road should proceed via the A73 Motherwell Street, Airdriehill Street, Burnhead Road, B8058 Braidenhill Road to the east side of the closure.

Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing to access the west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.

There are no alternative routes for vehicles on Findhorn Place and Bore Road.

Waiting and Loading Restriction

No waiting and no loading at any time

B8053 Bore Road from the junction with Drumbathie Road to the junction with Kirkness Street on the west side of the road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the closures.

Vehicular access will be permitted under the direction of Police Scotland where practicable during the closure.

The Order, will come into operation at 0001 hours and will remain in operation until 1800 hours on Saturday, 6 July 2024.
