What is happening?
REDCAR AND CLEVELAND BOROUGH COUNCIL
BRITISH CYCLING NATIONAL ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate the holding of a relevant event. The effect of the Order will be to:-
1. Prohibit any vehicle from entering onto or proceeding in the lengths of road as specified in the Schedule below
2. Prohibit any vehicle from stopping or waiting (including for the loading and unloading of goods) in the lengths of road as specified in the Schedule below.
3. The above prohibitions shall not apply to any vehicle officially accredited to the event, any vehicle used for the removal of any obstruction to traffic, any vehicle used by the emergency services or any vehicle used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.
4. To suspend the existing speed limit on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule during the periods when the prohibition in clause 1 above is in operation and impose the national speed limit for those vehicles specified in clause 3 above.
The Order will come into effect on 23.6.24 but will only be operative between 05:30 hours and 19:00 hours whilst the Council or a person authorised on its behalf displays the relevant traffic signs or as indicated by a Police Officer in uniform.
