Woodbridge Road (A25) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 19 June 2024 Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the following lengths of Woodbridge Road (A25) Guildford:

(a) that length of the two eastbound straight ahead only lanes as extend from a point 100 metres west of their junction at the traffic lights with (A322) Woodbridge Road and (D4005) Europa Park Road to their junctions at the traffic lights with (A322) Woodbridge Road and (D4005) Europa Park Road;

(b) that length of the eastbound left hand turn only lane as extends from a point 100 metres west of the junction at the traffic lights with (A322) Woodbridge Road and (D4005) Europa Park Road to its junction with (D4005) Europa Park Road; (c) the entire length of the bus gate leading to the traffic lights at the junction with A322) Woodbridge Road; and

(d) that length of the nearside eastbound right turn only lane as extends from a point 100 metres west of their junction at the traffic lights with (A322) Woodbridge Road and (D4005) Europa Park Road to their junctions at the traffic lights with (A322) Woodbridge Road and (D4005) Europa Park Road.

Alternative Routes: (1) A25 Ladymead (eastbound); A25 Parkway (eastbound); A3100 London Road Roundabout; A25 Parkway (westbound); and A25 Ladymead (westbound). (2) via A322 Woodbridge Road (southbound); Roundabout; A322 Woodbridge Road (northbound) and A25 Ladymead or D4005 Europa Park Road.

This Order, which will commence on 01 July 2024 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: footway/cycle path widening works and/or traffic island modification works and/or signalised crossing installation works and/or any other associated works. Works are anticipated to be completed within 14 weeks of this 18-month Order.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route.

Keens Lane (D54) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 19 June 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Keens Lane (D54) Guildford which extends from the eastern property boundary of No.25 Keens Lane, eastwards for a distance of 45m.

This Order is required to enable Affinity Water to facilitate water connection works, which is anticipated to be completed within 3 days, between 8am and 6pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 24 June 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Due to the nature of the works, access for emergency vehicles and residents will not be maintained and will be required to follow the diversion route, however no sole means of access to any premises will be affected by this closure.

Alternative Route – Worplesdon Road and Tangley Lane or vice versa. Beech Lane (D63) Normandy and Public Byway

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 19 June 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Beech Lane (D63) Normandy, part of which is known as Public Byway Open to all Traffic No.524 (Normandy), which extends from its junction with Westwood Lane to the south-western property boundary of the property known as “Elmwood”.

This Order is required to enable Lanes Group to facilitate sewer cleaning works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

There is no alternative route available for this road closure.

D6838 Common Road, Claygate
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 19 June 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D6838 Common Road, Claygate which extends from its junction with Red Lane to its junction with Cornwall Avenue.

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out carriageway surfacing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed within 5 to 10 days, as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 26 June 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.

Alternative Route – D6838 Common Road, D6837 Stevens Lane, C158 Stevens Lane and C158 Red Lane.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.8) 2024

On 19 June 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 of the Act the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the length of roads described in the Schedule to this Notice.

This Order is required to facilitate highways improvement and/or maintenance/ and /or pedestrian phased traffic signal works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.

These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, between the hours of 7pm and 7am within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

(iii) that length of Connaught Road (A324) Pirbright as extends from its junction with (A324) Dawney Hill and for a distance of 29 metres in a north easterly direction. Alternative Route: (A324) Dawney Hill, (A324) The Green, (A324) Guildford Road, (B3032) Guildford Road, (B380) Fox Corner, (A322) Bagshot Road, and (A324) Connaught Road, or this route in reverse.

Knowle Lane (D184) Cranleigh
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024

On 19 June 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Knowle Lane (D184) Cranleigh as extends from its junction with (B2128) High Street to its junction with ((D183) Wildwood Lane; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in Waverley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.6) 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice.

Alternative Route: Wildwood Lane, (A281) Guildford Road, (A281) Horsham Road, (B2130) Elmbridge Road, (B2128) The Common, and (B2128) High Street, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate underground utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm during 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 03 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Guildford Street (D3040) Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024

On 19 June 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Guildford Street (D3040) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (D3010) Riversdale Close to its junction with (B375) Windsor Street and (B375) London Street; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Guildford Street (D3040) Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” insofar as it affects the lengths of road specified in part (a) of this Notice.

Alternative Route: (B375) London Street and (B375) Heriot Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate sewer cleaning works for, or on behalf of Lanes Group PLC.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 nights, between the hours of 10pm and 5.30am within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 02 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Pewley Hill (D4015) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 19 June 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Pewley Hill (D4015) Guildford.

This Order is required to facilitate utility works, for or on behalf of UKPN.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 July 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates, if necessary, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.

Fort Road (D4015) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 19 June 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Fort Road (D4015) Guildford as extends from its access to the property boundary line of No.29 Fort Road to its access with the footpath leading to the “Pewley Down Nature Reserve”.

This Order is required to facilitate safe access to the building site entrance for, or on behalf of C Curtis Building Ltd.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 15 weeks, between the hours of 7.30am and 4.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services vehicles will be maintained, in an emergency situation only.

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained via one side of the footpath along Fort Road. It will not be possible to maintain vehicular access for residents and businesses. No sole access will be affected by this closure. There is no diversion route for this closure.

Ockham Road South (B2039) East Horsley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Ockham Road South (B2039) East Horsley as extends from its junction with (X2039) Lynx Hill to its junction with (X2039) Park Corner Drive; (b) Suspend the 7.5 tonne weight restriction for heavy commercial vehicles in The Street (C43) Effingham imposed by “The County Council of Surrey (Various Roads in Effingham) (Weight Restriction) Order 1983” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (b) of this Notice.

Alternative Route: (B2039) Ockham Road South, (A246) Guildford Road, (C43) The Street, (C43) Effingham Common Road, (C43) Howard Road, (C42) Forest Road, and (B2039) Ockham Road South, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate replacement of telegraph pole works for, or on behalf of I and A Communications.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 17 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Ash Green Road (D66) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Ash Green Road (D66) Guildford.

Alternative Route: (D67) Harpers Road, (D66) Wyke Lane, (A323) Guildford Road, and (C18) Foreman Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate S278 works for, or on behalf of Buxted Construction.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 10 months, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 19 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Holly Lane (D962) Worplesdon
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Holly Lane (D962) Worplesdon as extends from its junction with the access to the properties known as “Pitmore Farmhouse” and “Hollow Farm” to its junction with Public Footpath No. 462 Worplesdon.

Alternative Route – Holly Lane; A322 Worplesdon Road; A322 Aldershot Road; A25 Dennis Roundabout; A322 Aldershot Road; and Holly Lane.

This Order is required to facilitate mains water utility works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Affinity Water within the lengths of road described in this notice.

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order which commences on 15 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

All other vehicular traffic including residents will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Seale Road (C21) Elstead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Seale Road (C21) Elstead which extends from its junction with Farnham Road (B3001) to its junction with Fullbrook Farm Road (D101).

Alternative Route – Farnham Road (B3001), Crooksbury Road (D104), Botany Hill (C22), Sands Road (C23), Littleworth Road (C23) and Seale Road (C21) or the same route in reverse.

This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 2 days, between 8:00am and 6:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 11 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

D3073 Pinewood Grove and D3075 Parkside, New Haw – Addlestone
Temporary Traffic Management Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily:- 

1. Prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in that length of D3073 Pinewood Grove, New Haw – Addlestone that extends from the southern side of its junction with D3074 Wingfield Close, to the northern side of its junction with D3073 Pinewood Park.

2. Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time in:- 

a) That length of D3073 Pinewood Grove, New Haw – Addlestone that extends from its junction with B385 Woodham Lane, to the northern side of its junction with D3075 Parkside. b) The entire length of D3075 Parkside New Haw – Addlestone.

This Temporary Order is required by Beaumont Traffic Management Limited to enable Tower House Associates Limited to carry out movement of an abnormal load and/or deliveries.

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 4pm, within 3 days of the 12 month period of operation of the Temporary Order, which commences on 20 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure and waiting restrictions which are anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. For Part 1.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times; cyclists and equestrians will be required to follow the vehicular diversion route or dismount and follow the pedestrian walkway.

There will be insufficient width available for any vehicular traffic to pass the abnormal load however access for emergency vehicles, residences and businesses will be maintained to the point of hard closure via the alternative route:- Woodham Lane, Kings Road and Broomfield Road. For Part 2.

Any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency and any vehicle being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the temporary waiting restrictions described in paragraph one.

The usual exemptions for Post Office vehicles when delivering or collecting postal packets, vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control, to pick up and set down passengers, to load and unload goods, to carry out essential services and works or when used by local authorities in pursuance of statutory powers or duties and for furniture removals and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer, will apply when the temporary waiting restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).

D214 Woodhill Lane, Shamley Green
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D214 Woodhill Lane, Shamley Green that extends from its junction with B2128 The Green, to the western side of its junction with D195 Stroud Lane.

This Traffic Order is required by Network Plus to enable water mains connection and/or upgrade and/or maintenance works on behalf of Thames Water in D214 Woodhill Lane, Shamley Green outside “Brook Cottage”.

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9am and 6pm, within 4 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times by means of road plates.

Alternative route:- Woodhill Lane, The Green, Church Hill, Stroud Common and Stroud Lane.

D143 Wheeler Lane, Witley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D143 Wheeler Lane, Witley. 2. Suspend the “Surrey County Council Wheeler Lane (D143) Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” in its entirety.

This Traffic Order is required by C8TM and/or BT Openreach to enable telecoms connection and/or cabling and/or upgrade and/or maintenance works in D143 Wheeler Lane, Witley between A283 Petworth Road and D143 Bannister Close.

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm, within 7 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 25 July 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Alternative route:- Wheeler Lane, Gasden Lane, Haslemere Road, Cherry Tree Roundabout and Petworth Road.

Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024

On 28 June 2024 Surrey County Council will make the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Footpath 343 from grid ref: 504899 140456 heading West for 115 metres to grid ref: 504790 140456.

The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety due to water main works.

The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 1 July 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for traffic from grid ref: 504899 140456 is to head East for 174 metres on Public Footpath 343 (Cranleigh), then head South East for 238 metres on Public Footpath 342 (Cranleigh), then head South West for 77 Metres before continuing South East for 138 metres to join Public Footpath 344 (Cranleigh) for 596 metres heading South West to meet Guildford Road. Once on Guildford head North for 590 metres to grid ref: 504790 140456.

The alternative route for traffic from grid ref: 504790 140456 will be the reverse of the route described above.

‘The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 343 (Cranleigh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024’ will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 28 June 2024 Surrey County Council will make a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of:

(i) Footpath No. 557 (Albury) from (Grid Ref. 504151 148766) in a southerly direction for approximately 20 metres to (Grid Ref. 504149 148750)

(ii) BOAT 517 (Albury) from (Grid ref. 504630 148649) in a southerly direction for approximately 10 metres to (Grid ref. 504631 148637)

(iii) Public Footpath 35 (Guildford) from (Grid ref. 500823 149003) in a south easterly direction for approximately 15 metres to (Grid ref. 500836 148994).

(iv) BOAT 514 (Shere) from (Grid Ref. 507245 148283) in a southerly direction for approximately 140 metres to (Grid Ref. 507270 148146).

(v) Footpath 556 (St Martha) from (Grid ref. 503390 148782) in a northerly direction for approximately 15 metres to (Grid Ref. 503389 148788)

The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to the installation of a water pipeline from Guildford to Shere, which crosses the above-mentioned rights of way.

It will be in operation from 28 June until 28 December 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

Works will commence at each separate site throughout the period of closure on a staggered basis and it is not expected for all paths to be closed for the entire period. Signage will be provided at each site to give further details to users on the expected period of closure for each path.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when this appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

Short alternative routes within 20 metres of the definitive line of the paths will be provided and these will be indicated by signage on site.

For the BOAT 517 (Albury) the alternative is for pedestrians only; for BOAT 514 (Shere), there is no suggested alternative for motorised vehicles.

The Surrey County Council
Public Footpath No. 557 & BOAT 517 (Albury); Footpath No. 35 (Guildford), BOAT 514 (Shere) and Footpath No. 556 (St Martha) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
