Charity Lane, Temporary Prohibitions Due To Works On Footbridge
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (CYCLE TRACK LINKING MOORCLOSE ROAD AND CHARITY LANE, HIGH HARRINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above Order ("the Order") made by Cumberland Council on 19 December 2023, which became operative on 4 January 2024, to enable works to be carried out to High Harrington Footbridge, which extends over the cycle track and which would otherwise expire on 4 July 2024
:has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 4 January 2025.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along that section of cycle track which links Moorclose Road and Charity Lane from a point approx 800m north west of its junction with Charity Lane (Grid Ref: 299950, 525443), extending in a northerly direction for approx.60m.
A suitable alternative route for cyclists will be available via the unrestricted sections of the cycle track, Moorclose Road, A597, The Hollins, Keys Brow and Charity Lane.
