What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.250) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have on 20th June 2024 made the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The general effect of the Order will be:-

(a) to provide parking places which may be used free of charge by electrically propelled vehicles that are being charged with electrical power, operational 'at any time' on Mondays to Sundays inclusive for a maximum period of 8 hours, in the locations detailed in the Schedule to this Notice.

(b) to formally install electric vehicle charging points adjacent to the proposed parking places, as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

Although parking in the electric vehicle bays is free of charge there is normally a cost involved in the use of the adjacent electric vehicle charging points.

A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on Thursday 27th June 2024 and the Council's Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 3rd Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
